Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo – Patriot Extraordinaire

It bewilders me, and all discerning Muslims alike, to note with disappointment the desperate attempts by some paid propagandists of the NDC to drag the name of Honourable Nana Akufo-Addo in the dirt. As much as it is a filthy plot in vain, the air must be cleared on the pertinent unsavoury arguments that are made in the course of implementing the smear campaign.

First it was said that Nana urinated in a mosque, which was never substantiated. That is an insult to the Scholars of Islam who accompany him on such visits to Islamic programs and sites. Are those propagandists who seem to be deficient in Islamic ethics and knowledge saying that the Muslim brothers and sisters cannot advise Nana Akufo-Addo. Being on tour with him, I can attest to the respect that this man has for religion, culture and tradition.
Then it is said that he walks into mosques with his shoes on. As preposterous as this sounds, it must be said that Honourable Nana Akufo-Addo, in this matter of respect for Holy places, understands and knows, all too well, the manners needed for such visits. He, surely, is not an undiscerning plebeian like those throwing at him such unfounded accusations. They must be apostates, having defected from the camps of sensible elders to the umbrella of stupefied dunderheads.

Recently, at Alhaji Adams’s funeral, the Upper East NPP regional chairman, another shameful attempt to denigrate Nana Akufo-Addo was tried. The Daily Post, a useless propaganda newspaper, which is not even fit for a bowel endeavour in the bush, carried a front page story captioned, “Akufo-Addo, disrespects Islam once again”, with inference to the delay of Nana’s arrival to the burial. Under Islamic traditions, a deceased must be buried soonest but where a delay is necessitated, it is allowed. I just wonder what kind of foolishness runs in some people’s blood. After all, Nana, immediately, cut short his trip to Europe, where he was attending scheduled meetings, and returned home upon hearing of this tragedy. Certainly he had no wings to fly like some witches in the NDC camp and had to resort to the conventional mode of travel by aircraft. Besides, the burial of a high profile person, sometimes, can be delayed to give time for dignitaries to attend the event. This insular approach of using religion to create disfavour for Honourable Nana Akufo-Addo is, really, nothing but a dance of the dying hen that flutters from the fine cut of the butcher’s knife or the irksome syndrome of a dead goat.
These somniloquists harangue in their perpetual stupor-induced sleep. They are as blind as the 37 bats, albeit less intelligent.

As a Muslim, I declare that I do not know Honourable Nana Akufo-Addo to be insensitive to the religion of Islam. I have, neither, seen him transgress against the traditions of my religion nor ever heard of any such indecent accusations from those who know him.

Nana, like I have always posited, “you are like gold, the more you are struck the brighter you glow”.
