Fellow Ghanaians,
Kofi, you have just wasted your precious time replying to that pungent Ahoofe. Ahoofe by himself, stands out as a monumental riddle in the middle of Ghana's intelectuals where he frequently claims that he is a man of letters when all the while he acts in a decidely antediluvian manner.
Ahoofe's ad hominem style is noisome enough and his stirring of old herrings about the Ewes justifies that his activities be exposed to his college especially his anti Ewe innuendus.

Let us leave people's employers completely out of the arguments we make here. You may wonder why a person who calls himself a professor is making a certain argument but that should still not lead you on to try to contact the person's employers.
We all know of the freedom of info provisions in the countries that we live but that is not why we should be threatening people with finding things about them because they make an argument on ghanaweb that we don't like.
We can excuse the enquiries about Akufo-Addo because the man is a public figure but Ata should not have even threatened Okoampa with contacting his employers no matter how obnoxious he finds his viewpoints on ghanaweb.

When I first discovered Ghanaweb in 2007, there were a lot of talented discussants whose points of view meant so much to so many writers.
In the last few years, however, there have been so many backstabbing efforts by discussants hiding behind the anonymity that cyberspace affords. Suddenly, what used to be a lovely and interesting site to visit had become a place of arrant in-fighting, ill-omened jealousies, and ominous rivalries.
Ghanaweb today is a shadow of its former self, with so many brilliant minds having departed the site because of the uncouth behavior of so many.
Instead of using the site to bring together many diverse minds for the sole purpose of enhancing national affairs, some have turned it into a portal for "destabilizing" and humiliating their fellow Ghanaians. Indeed, anyone attempting to gain fame on Ghanaweb is a desperate individual because this "small" site is not going to make anyone famous! Stop wasting your time, people.
The one thing that irks me more than anything else is when people come to the site to disclose to the rest of the reading public who had written to them and about what. When someone sends you an email, I would assume that it is meant to be private information, yet writers are so eager to splash on these pages with whom they had been in contact and for what reason.
Well, I learned a long time ago about the inherent risks associated with communicating by email with people I had never met in person. It's such a sad situation on Ghanaweb, but it is what it is now...

Kofi Ata's article was appropriate, except for the fact that he shared with the reader that he had communicated with Okoampa previously be email, and that Okoampa had not responded to hos latest email. This is what I was referring to in my previous comment -- this desire by so many to share on a public forum personal/private communication with others. In effect, Kofi Ata has ruined his piece by sharing this supposedly private information. On the other hand, I hope Kwame finds out who wrote to Nassau Community College, as Ata deserves an apology from Kwame.

Lord Ziggy, pls note that Ata said the present article was necessitated by Okoampa's refusal to respond to his email. If Okoampa had done so, he wouldn't have written an article that mentioned their private emails. So, perhaps, he was justified in mentioning the fact that there was private communication between them per emails.
Otherwise, your general point is right that any decent person will regard emails as private affairs that are not supposed to be discussed on a place like ghanaweb.
There can be special circumstances where email content may be used to illustrate an argument in a topic that is of public interest (for instance if you exchange mails with a researcher on a particular point in a study that is publicly available).
But I know that is not what you mean. The kind of mail references you deplore are those of a specifically private nature especially regarding a person's family or job circumstances. There are just too many of such exchanges on this website. And some of them are by people who regard themselves as the big shots on this site. Some of them even go to the extent of reproducing such mails exchanged in happier times at times when they disagree with each other on ghanaweb. This is not only disgraceful but utterly disgusting!
I don't like the ethnocentric things Okoampa posts on this site but this has absolutely nothing to do with him as a person, his wife, his children or place of work. These should be completely out of bounds!
We should all stop this personalizing of things. Okoampa may be a victim but he doesn't help himself by his constant references to his family connections - my uncle, my grandfather, my cousin, my aunt, etc etc and he has also made refs to his own children too.
But Okoampa's biggest fault is his often total disregard for the accuracy of his sources. He can attribute articles to people who never wrote such articles, or quote people who never said the things he is attributing to them. Even if the mistakes are pointed out to him, he will never make a public retraction and apologize for his mistake.
It's because of such behaviour that some of the best brains on this website have departed never to come back.

I don't see why people don't say that Ata shouldn't say such a thing! It is a threat! Why should he want to bring the attention of Okoampa's employers to something he (Okoampa) has written on ghanaweb? For what results? So that Okoampa's employers should warn him or cashier him?
I am not holding brief for Okoampa and I don't, myself, like his articles against certain ethnic groups in our country, but I insist that NONE OF US should be contacting anybody's employers for things they have written on ghanaweb.

Kofi, just relax and eat your kenkey in Peace. I am glad you came to protest the farcical claim by the notorious bigot of a Professor.
However, I'd shed no tears for him if anyone would report him to his College as he alleged, even though I would not do that to him. This is because the Professor is on record to have done even worse than he accused you of, by reporting and requesting the firing of Dr. SAS from his job in Texas, here, in the USA.
If you have noticed a certain wave of bellicose exchanges on Ghanaweb.com between the two lately, that incident explains it. Dr. SAS made it known to the Public how savagely wicked the Professor could be to have done that, all because the former disagreed with the latter on some issues.
For as much as we know and have learnt, following Dr. SAS' notification of the Public of the Professor's egregious behavior, the Professor has never disowned Dr. SAS' accusation, which establishes that Kwame Okoampa-Ahoofe, Jr. did in fact attempt to get Dr. SAS lose his job.
Now, we may have to worry more about the behavior of Professor Okoampa-Ahoofe, Jr., not because he is so invincible in ruining others' lives that we should fear him but for the fact that he serves as, or at least, professes to be one of the reliable Akufo-Addo's strategic advisors.
Having seen the difficulty the NPP has faced over the years in shirking the image of being an Akan-only Party, a notion given much substance by Akufo-Addo himself with his 'Yen Akanfo de..' infamous utterance, and by Kennedy Agyapong with his instigation of Ashantis to massacre Ewes and Gas in Kumasi, the persistent show of bigotry by this Professor makes it all much harder for NPP to win the General Elections, no matter how badly the NDC and Mahama mismanage the Country.
I would not expect anything kind of the Professor and his cohorts in response to this comment of mine. But I would rather help the Public inoculate itself with this urgent knowledge of the Professor's bigotry than be intimidated into silence with the fear of being assaulted by him and his fellow cretins.
Every courageous, discerning and fair-minded Akan must unequivocally reject the bigotry the Professor has been ramming down the throats of Ghanaians for so long.
We must all acknowledge that whenever anyone stands up to the Professor and the likes of him, that person would be subjected to their vitriolic aspersions and denigration. But no one should be cowed by him. We should all understand that he has not been any nicer to fellow NPP or Akan folks who have boldly taken him on. His behavior affects all Ghanaians of various Political or Ethnic affiliations. And folks must be cognizant of the fact that condemning his behavior does not translate into attacking his Ethnicity or Party.
So, Kofi, don't worry too much about this. Just keep on sharing your views in all fairness and respect for all, for Ghana's sake.
Long Live Ghana!!!

There was a gang of his detractors on Ghanaweb who worked behind the scenes to have him expunged from the Danquah Institute.
As an avid user of Ghanaweb and a frequent consumer of Okoampa's articles, I did not even notice when Okoampa was "dismissed" by the Institute. Guess how I got hold of that information! It was your infamous "Dr" SAS, who, in the throes of celebratory euphoria here on Ghanaweb, made it known.
I suspect he had something to do with it. And so it was almost laughable, as unpleasant as it is, to see “Dr.” SAS foam at the mouth when the favor was returned. When he cried afoul for the letter he got from the Texas Bar purported to have been sent by Okoampa, I had to revisit his attitude when he made it known that Okoampa had been dismissed from the Institute.
Your “Dr.” SAS did not deny what I said; instead, he asked me to refresh his memory. A lawyer who can quote legal precedents ad nauseaum but cant remember if he made a salient statement like that regarding Okoampa? One must be an idiot to fall for such!
I agree, you can have disagreement with someone but it should not rise to the level of contacting one’s employer. It’s never pleasant. Sarfo knows it and so does Dr. Okoampa.

I do, however, remember a very terse Article that Okoampa-Ahoofe authored to chastise the then Director of the Institute, Otchere Darko, for having desired the Professor's ouster.
That was long before Dr. SAS had a collision with Okoampa-Ahoofe. Nevertheless, I find it most degrading to see such prominent contributors to our National Discourse stoop that low to undermine each other.
It seems, we, Ghanaians, dwell too much on personalities for Political direction, instead of ideas per se. That is lamentable, and would always deny us the right focus on the most effective means to achieve growth.
