Rejoinder ‘Kufuor faction behind agenda 2020 – Africa Watch’

07 – 03 – 15
Dear Editor, I refer to your story headlined: ‘Kufuor faction behind agenda 2020 – Africa Watch’ of Wednesday 4th March 2015, supposed to have been culled from the February 2015 edition of the Africa Watch Magazine.
I find the headline and the contents of the story to be mischievous and only calculated to create division in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as well as create disenchantment for Former President Kufuor.
In deed nowhere in the story is reference made that: ‘the John Kufuor/Alan Kyerematen faction in the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) is the brain behind the “Agenda 2020” clique in the party - working assiduously to cause the defeat of its 2016 flagbearer, William Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo, in next year’s Presidential elections,” as stated in your publication.
Neither is there any mention that: “the Kufuor-faction intends to make Nana Akufo-Addo lose next year’s election, as it assess the chances of the NPP flagbearer becoming President.’
All these are a figment of your own imagination which has no basis in truth or fact. It is not borne out of any goodwill and certainly cannot be in favour of Nana Addo or the NPP.
It is clearly an attempt at fostering a ‘divide and rule’ tactic in the NPP to scuttle its chances at winning the 2016 elections.
I pray you publish a retraction to give a more accurate rendition of of the story and redeem your poor journalistic judgment.
