WON GBO DEMONSTRATION - CRY MY BELOVED COUNTRY CRY:

THE NEW PATRIOTIC PARTY HITS THE STREETS OF ACCRA TO DEMONSTRATE AGAINST THE SEVERE ECONOMIC AND GENERAL HARDSHIPS AND MASSIVE CORRUPTION IN GHANA

Cry my beloved country cry! The severe economic and general hardship facing the majority of Ghanaians have become so unbearable. The prevalent energy crisis continue to bedevil the nation without any end in sight.

President Mahamah has become a "talking tom" on the energy and other crisis. He has been making one promise after another, He does not intend to keep any and has no commitment towards resolution of any.

The cry of Ghanaians must be heard loud clear on the streets for our non-performing president sit up and to understand that his leadership style of the nation is causing severe pain and hardship in all sectors of the economy. The tears of the people must be seen and appreciated by President Mahama and his appointees.

This nation is in crisis – cry my beloved country cry.

All is set for the citizens in a democratic Ghana to express our disapproval of this government's ineptitude in the Won Gbo Demonstration.

The New Patriotic Party has met all the legal arrangement as enshrined in the 1992 constitution to demonstrate on 18th February, 2015. The Police Service have been duly informed and routes for the protest have been agreed upon.

The leader of our party and presidential candidate for the 2016 elections Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo, the man with the requite vision, tenacity, urgency of purpose and commitment to help the transformation of Ghana, will join the procession with his running mate Dr. Mahmudu Bawumia and all national, regional and constituency executives of the party as well as members of the general public to express our indignation to President Mahamah and his NDC government over the mismanagement of the economy.

Nana Addo and the NPP feel the pains and cries of the people of Ghana. There have been many suggestions made by the New Patriotic Party to help address the current crisis. None of these have been considered.

It has become evident that the occasional and sometimes perennial power outages our country has been experiencing over the past years have taken a dramatic trend for the worse.

Electricity supply which is the backbone of many domestic, commercial and industrial activity have been allowed to deteriorate to its current situation. Ghanaians are gradually being made to accept that the 24 hour power off after 12 hours power on have come to stay. The "Dum sor" has become "dum dum sor"

Many domestic, commercial and industrial activities are virtually grinding to a halt due to the erratic nature of electricity supply. Business entities who can afford have resorted to using generators. This increase in their operational costs, which are passed on to consumers.

Some businesses are relocating to neighboring countries as the nation cry for investment, cry my beloved country cry.

Students are not spared the negative impact of lack of electricity. Teaching and learning has become a difficult endeavor in our competitiveness.

In our hospitals and other health facilities, lanterns and torch lights have become essential items to perform operations and provide health services.

The small and medium scale industry sector of our economy that provide the bulk of employment to majority of the Ghanaian youth are hardest hit. Many have folded up or on the verge of collapse.

Ice water sellers, barbers, artisans, cooked food sellers, drinking bar operators, carpenters, sprayers, hair dressers and many other tiny businesses have been forced to fold up due to the current power and energy crisis.

As corruption in high places continue by President Mahamah and his appointees, despondency and hopelessness have become the lot of many Ghanaians.

Thievery, lies, propaganda, disrespect and insults, nepotism, maladministration have been the character of the NDC government.

The people of Ghana are crying. The nation is in leadership crisis and the President John Dramani Mahamah together with the ruling class have turn death ears to the cry of the masses for improved management of the nation's resources.

Cry my beloved country cry!!

The very essence for which presidents are elected has eluded President Mahama. He does not care or seem to have any answers and strategies to resolve the myriad of problems he has brought on the management / mismanagement of the country.

The problems have grown cancerous. Every sector of the economy is affected. Everybody is crying for some relief. The president simply does not care – yen tie obia.

It is long overdue for the people of Ghana to rise up and use very legitimate means to register our indignation over the handling of the country.

As the country cry without any respite, the 18th February, 2015 Won bgo demonstration is to bring pressure to bear on President Mahama to sit up and solve the many problems confronting the nation.

This is a peaceful demonstration. Any Ghanaian who is being adversary affected by the current crisis in the country should join. Hundreds of thousands of Ghanaians from all walks of life will join the Leadership of the New Patriotic Party (N.P.P.) to register their indignation on the streets of Accra against the severe economic, general hardships and massive corruption in Ghana under the President John Dramani Mahama led NDC government.

It is a civic responsibility for every Ghanaian to express himself / herself in a peaceful and civil demonstration. All members of the public are therefore encourage to join the leadership of New Patriotic Party on 18th February, 2015.

Let's converge at the Obra Spot at Kwame Nkrumah circle for the demonstration.

As members of the NPP, we are law abiding citizens under taking a civic responsibility, we must also not be oblivious of the infiltration of some agent provocateurs.

Let us be on the lookout for any such persons and to prevent anything likely to mar the peace and security of every one of us. Let's be mindful of other people who may want to discredit or harm our peaceful protest and thus, undermine the import of the demonstration as whole.
