Kumawuman to Beware of the Double Agents Within Their Midst & Also The Police

To start with, who is a "double agent" and what is their role? A double agent is a person who spies on a country while pretending to spy for it, or a spy in the service of two rival countries, companies, etc., or a person employed by a government to discover secret information about enemy countries, but who is really working for one of these enemy countries. With all these three definitions meaning the same and one thing, my readers have been given not a comprehensive, but an overview of a double agent and their functions.

A double agent can figuratively be like a luggage on a baggage carousel like those found at the airports. The luggage is placed on the baggage carousel at one point, goes round to the other end and then back and forth in a circular movement until detected and removed or collected by their owner.

A baggage carousel is a device, generally at an airport, that delivers checked luggage to the passengers at the baggage claim area at their final destination.

A particular Kumawuman citizen, in my opinion, according to my empirical observations, squarely fits the description of a double agent. He reasons and talks like someone who suffered from repeated convulsions or mild epilepsy in his infancy. He does not cogitate about anything but just talks as though he has lost his mind or he is living in the jungle where wisdom and intelligence are nothing of value to its dwellers. One Asiedu who prides himself of being a full blown (100%) Kumawu citizen well fits the above descriptions.

The brief statement above is more than enough to warn the two factions feuding over the Kumawu Koduah stool. It will be very unprofessional of me as an intelligent prolific writer to disclose details about the mentioned person but he dare not push me further. He should stop carrying information to and from both feuding parties. A word to the wise is enough.

Even though we all carry a lot of emotional baggage around with us, it is quite wrong to behave the way that the said proud son of Kumawu, but who is without the collective interests of Kumawuman at heart is doing.

Going on to the police, especially the Ashanti Regional Police Commander Kofi Boakye, I cannot tell how they understand the word PROFESSIONALISM in relation to their job. Being professional police personnel is to be ready to uphold to the fullest the tenets of established laws, their rigorous interpretations and applications. Comprehending the law is not anything beyond their limit, but well within their scope of understanding and operation.

I do not want to complicate the matter for them, being well vexed in security matters myself. I will rather be plain and simple with them. It is a law, very known to the police service that they are not to involve themselves in chieftaincy matters, let alone, taking sides. They can only come in when there is a violent conflict between two or three factions vying for the stool, to ensure the situation does not escalate into loss of lives and destruction of property. This does not grant them the licence to take sides, but to ensure fairly the prevalence of peace.

However, in the case of Kumawu as observed on Sunday 18 January 2015, the police and the army descended on the town in police personnel armoured carriers. There was no occurrence of violence in Kumawu. It was obvious that they had come to intimidate Barimah Tweneboah Koduah V, the popularly publicly installed Omanhene of Kumawu and his supporters who had vowed to celebrate the "akwasidae". In the absence of any provocations, the police still felt it a necessary obligation to fire rubber bullets and tear gas into the crowd that was supportive of, and attending, Barimah Tweneboah Koduah V's, "akwasidae" celebrations.

Why did the police do that? This gave them the doubtful excuse to arrest about nine people whom they took to their police cells in Effiduase and Kumasi Central police cells. They have charged them to court. They later invaded, ransacked and destroyed properties in the homes of Kumawu Aduanahene Nana Sarfo Agyekum II and Akwamuhene Nana Baffoe.

Is it professional of Kofi Boakye, an Ashtown boy, to behave in a manner that infringes the very laws and rules he is employed to protect? Has he not taken sides in a peaceful chieftaincy issue of which he has no right to interfere in? Does he think we do not know the laws of the land? Is he not being lawless in the belief that under the current NDC government, laws are nothing to respect?

I believe Police Commander Kofi Boakye has been somehow induced by Asantehene, Kumawuhemaa and Dr Yaw Sarfo, the supposed Barimah Sarfo Tweneboah Koduah, fraudulently imposed on Kumawuman. I hope he has not taken bribe to conduct himself in the manner that he is doing. If he has, I will expose him with the passage of time, for that I can assure the public.

Has he been influenced by the letter that the Kumawu Traditional Council (KTC) sent to him on behest of Dr Yaw Sarfo? The fact that Dr Yaw Sarfo, a Saudi Arabia-trained Medical Doctor, has been sworn in by Asantehene does not legitimize his illegal enstoolment in the first place. Asantehene has no mandate under the Sun, the Moon and the Stars to appoint an Omanhene for Kumawu.

I do not want to repeat myself telling all the reasons why Asantehene cannot impose anyone on Kumawu as its Omnhene. Whoever wants to know more about this should please go back to read all my previous publications on the topic.

Finally, the enthronement of a supposed Kumawu Akwamuhene to replace the one that Asantehene and Dr Yaw Sarfo claim to have destooled was as equally illegally enstooled as that of Dr Yaw Sarfo (Barimah Sarfo Tweneboah Koduah). He has not the support of the Head of his family (abusuapanin), Opanin Osei Kofi, according to the revelations of my inquiries conducted into the issue. Whoever doubts me can contact his "Abusuapanin".

Kumawuman people by their majority do not recognise or accept Barimah Sarfo Tweneboah Koduah as their paramount chief. Who cares if Asantehene is behind him in their "create, loot and share" ploy? When something is illegal, it is illegal, no matter how far you try to make it appear legal. Police intimidations, harassments, victimizations, etc. won't do the trick. Is it not said, "When the head is rotten, the entire body is corrupted?"

Once again, find below a true copy form of a letter the Kumawu Traditional Council sent to Police Commander Kofi Boakye. He must be careful not to be tempted by the contents of the letter to behave lawlessly, for all eyes are watching with all ears listening.
