An Open Letter To The Sissala East District Chief Executive (DCE)

An Open Letter To The Sissala East District Chief Executive (DCE)

As a self-styled investigator and also a freelance journalist; I unearth topical issues that matter to the masses and thus the actions and inactions of authority that are inimical to the development of the District and will always do this without malice to any outfit, personality, tribe etc.
Hon D.C.E! You have started your tenure of office with a good pace and it is my fervent hope that, you will be able to account for your stewardship without bowing your head down in shame.
My issue has to do with the increasing spate at which your outfit fold arms and look on while the few available infrastructures in the district are not being put to good use and hence the issue of their maintenance culture is nothing to talk home about.

First of all, let me talk of the government bungalows also christened as quarters or low-cost and has been given out to public workers for accommodation, but rather what do we see?! These bungalows have been used as drinking spot (pito bars) beer bars and put to other unscrupulous use. Occupants of these bungalows who we all know are educated and should have taken the lead to teach us maintenance culture but here they are exhibiting ignorance and naivety on their part. My investigations reveals that, each occupant is supposed to pay twenty Ghana cedis a month to the district assembly and I tell you readers; some people have occupied these bungalows for more than thirty years now and besides no single person can produce up to five receipts of payment made to the district assembly; yet these same ignoramus will join us to complain about the slow pace of development.

Secondly, let us delve into the underutilization of our only social center (community center) and the subsequent negligence on our part, which has led to the’’ mush-room like’’, dilapidated or shattered look of the facility. At this level what might go through the mind of every concern resident of the district is, does the assembly charge patrons of the social center user fee for every activity they use for? My investigations again reveals that, yes any entity, institution, individual who uses the facility pays user fee to the authority and people what do we see happen to the facility? Monumental deterioration of the edifice. Please it behooves on us a development oriented people to stand up and exhibit our maintenance culture to the whole nation.

Also among the disgusting issues is the dilapidated enclose we call; the catering rest house where our district assembly host diplomats and serve as venue for the coalition centre for the District electoral commission whenever elections are held and many more. Lately thee house has become a habitat for unwanted visitors like bats and other birds. No wonder the key to the house has often being kept under a stone beneath the two mongo threes near it; so that any human ‘’human he-goat ‘’can have access to the enclose .Is it not a shame to offer those half-legged and partly broken chairs to diplomats to sit on? What then does the district assembly carpenter do to deserve his monthly salary?

Last but not the least, ladies and gentlemen of our dear district! I personally wonder how many of us spend time to have a look at the state of our only slaughter house; where the meat we consume is prepared. You will be utterly dismayed to see the eyesore yourself, no amount of words can describe it.it is very dirty, filthy, an eyesore and highly disgusting, the floors worm prone, maggot prone and a whole lot of unhygienic characteristics.
Please Hon. D.C.E and your people, this is a challenge thrown to you. You know how to tackle those issues.
On my earlier post of this letter on my Facebook page ANTI CORRUPT CAMPAIGNER dated 22nd October, 2014 have yield results. The district is to gain 8,796 Ghana cedis but you still need to pay attention others.
On this note, I will like to bring to the general public notice that, I shall do my best to help the district and nationwide by exposing corrupt practice and many more.
I hereby plead to the general public not to hesitate to in box any information and areas that you think I should extend investigation to through my Facebook page for necessary action.
So far, I have not had the sexual allegations report I have made on the two main second cycle institutions and the public is eager to read. The committee set-up by the DCE should do us a favour and publish their finding.
