Stop the lies; let your yes be yes

The Minority Leader of Parliament Parliament House Accra Ghana.

Dear Hon. Kyei Mensah-Bonsu,

STOP THE LIES; LET YOUR YES BE YES

I am Farouk Adams, a member of the New Patriotic Party in the Jaman South constituency. I am telling you on authority that your voice was not captured in a conversation with MPs in your office. In fact, some very damning excerpts of the tape, which you chastised some members of Parliament, is currently in my possession and would not hesitate to release it if you continue to sing your songs of lies.

I had to release this tape simply because of your double standard. I thought you were a principled person and the only man standing to protect the constitution of our dear party and guidelines set by the National Council, of which you are a member. Do you ever remember telling your friends that Dominic Nitiwul erred in endorsing Nana Addo and even following him around? Do you remember condemning other members of parliament?

Sir, let your YES be YES. Stop blaming innocent MPs who knew nothing about your verbal diarrhoea and face your own music. I am not ready to release the whole tape because of some very negative remarks you said about the Former President Kufuor and Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo, for the fear of the NDC latching on them to use against us.

I thought you were principled enough to call the bluff of all those persons calling on you to provide evidence for the Vuvuzelas and the profligate lifestyle of some members of the 2012 campaign team.

I have realized that your spin-doctors are all over trying to divert attention from the content of the tape. I won’t blame them for believing in the lies you spewed on radio today but Sir, I have the rest of the audio in my possession and would be compelled to play it to the world to know the truth. Courageous men who protected the interest of our tradition built the NPP and I expect of a minority leader to emulate this spirit. This capricious and whimsical strategy and commentary of yours is NOT part of us.
