Pat Bampoe – A rising female soccer star

Patricia Bampoe believes in herself. She told yours truly she was born to play football and that is the only thing she can do for Ghana.
After attending LBS Primary School and Owusu Mills JHS at Mamprobi, she was attracted to football and trained and played for Mawuena Ladies where she exceled and was transferred to the Fire Service.
Coaches Fansman and Sam are those who initially worked on her before she graduated into a rising star.
Her dream has been to play for the Black Queens, so she was elated when the age groups was introduced and decided to go through the mill to become a great player.
However due to financial problems, she has not realized her dream and has never given hope.
Pat Bampoe who loves to be called E to’o after the great Cameroonian super star who has won the most of the best footballer in Africa said she hopes to become the best player in Ghana and go on the be the best on the African continent.
She hopes to take Fire Service to a different level in Women’s Football in Ghana and feature for the Princess and Queens.
Patricia Bompoe is deadly in the opponents goal area because she can score with her head and both feet just like her idol.
Born to Robert Bampoe and Gladys Obieley Commey she wants to be the bread winner of her family because they are not rich and wants to use the power of sports to change the destiny of her family.
Her hobbies are football, music, cooking, dancing and playing cards or ludu. She loves to watch other games like athletics, handball, hockey, volleyball, tennis, golf, table tennis, swimming, boxing and judo.
Speaking on the Commonwealth Games, she said the preparations were not good and the authorities must be blamed for the poor show and not the sportsmen and women because they were not given the necessary training and competition to be able to perform at the highest level.
On the FIFA World Cup in Brazil, she said the Black Stars could have been world champions or runners –up if the government had sent their winning bonus or appearance fees on time.
She was very optimistic that Black Maidens can shine in Canada where they are participating in the World Under 20 Women’s Championships. “I was very happy that our girls beat Canada, the host nation in the opening game because their embassy refused to give our supporters visas to travel and go and watch the tournament. Secondly I think our girls are doing very well and they can shine brighter when given the support” she stressed.
Pat Bampoe aka E to’o hinted that there are many players who have not been tapped and the future is very bright for Ghana Football. “I do not want to be discouraged> I want to play football to the international level. I need help from anywhere to get sponsorship for my clothing, equipment, training, matches and social life. I see myself as a star and am not cheap at all. I will shine at the right time” she told yours truly.
