Re–CHASS Surprised At GES Action To Suspend Headmaster.

On page 60 of the ‘’Daily Graphic’’ Tuesday November 26 2013, the President of the Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools was reported as having expressed surprise at the suspension of the head master of Toase Senior High School, Mr. Annor Yeboah for CHARGING ILLEGAL FEES and he described the decision as too harsh and hasty. Oh! Is that really so? I am equally shocked at the behavior and statement of the CHASS President. In my opinion, the GES should have DISMISSED those headmasters outright because they are all nation wreckers playing dirty politics with the precious lives of innocent students of the various Senior High Schools in the country especially the ‘’Almighty Ashanti Region’’ which is notorious for being a Special Region when it comes to party politics since 1951 to date 2013.

Infact, if I were the President of Ghana, I would have ensured that all the headmasters who intentionally increased or charged illegal school fees in their schools are dismissed outright. Why should it always be the Ashanti Region, when it comes to anti – government activities, demonstrations and violence whenever the Danquah / Busia tradition which the NPP represent today 2013, is not in power since 1951to date.

The decision according to the Ashanti Regional Directorate of Education was to restore sanity in the administration of schools in the region – which appropriate quarters again, is Mr. Samuel Ofori Adjei referring the Ashanti Regional Director of Education to? Don’t he know that most parents are blaming the ruling NDC government for charging the high school fees ranging from GH c 1,000.00 to GH c 2,000.00 instead of GH c 237.00 for Day Students and GH c 437.00 for Boarders in this country? Most Headmasters even demand new wheel barrows, cement, shovels and pick axes, corrugated iron sheets, nails, paint, etc. with impunity because the so called Parent Teacher Associations always support these heartless Headmasters to the hilt. When these headmasters are exposed and disciplined, characters like Samuel Ofori Adjei will rise up to hastily express the so called position of CHASS in an interview with the media. The Ashanti Regional Director of education had the authority to even FIRE HEADMASTERS let alone suspending them. The CHASS President is indirectly supporting the Headmasters to charge unapproved fees – He must come again and talk sensibly and reasonably by apologizing to all Parents in the A/R.
The statement of the CHASS President is not only irresponsible but very provocative and he is directly condoning wrong doing because Mr. Yeboah, the Toase Headmaster told the Authorities with impunity that there was nothing he could do about it at a time all Headmasters were INSTRUCTED NOT TO CHARGE UN – APPROVED FEES. Is it because he has only one month to go on retirement when a fact finding mission went to his school? At the St. Louis SHS in Kumasi, the Headmistress even fled the school so if this is not clear sabotage then I don’t know what it is, therefore Mr. Samuel Ofori Adjei must stop throwing dust into the eyes of well meaning Ghanaians with his unpatriotic utterances, is that clear? the honorable Minister for Education has assured Parents and Guardians of Students whose dishonest Headmasters and Headmistresses charge unapproved fees in their schools to call the following HOT LINES at the Ministry of Education they are, 0303931897 / 0303931898 and name the particular school for action to be taken against those corrupt Headmasters nationwide.
