Mendacious in the name of God

I was intrigued about the shameless and deceptive comments his Excellency John Dramani Mahama made when he joined Christians worshippers of the mount Horeb prayer centre at Mamfe in the Eastern region to mark the church’s 20th anniversary on Sunday, June 23rd, 2013.
He attributed divine intervention to his disputed electoral victory and claimed that the divine nature of his disputed electoral victory was the “cause of NPP befuddlement “because he campaigned only for forty days.
I can’t comprehend why mortals make a mockery of God’s name for their parochial interest. I wonder if God was the one who ordained the hawks at the presidency to cajole the late president Mills to dance “azonto” at the airport even on the brink of death.
Was God pleased with how the government of the then vice president of the republic Ghana and now the disputed president f Ghana Presided over the payment of gigantic judgment debt to individuals and organizations for no work done? Was the glaring brazen and flagrant display of the lack of neutrality and good faith by the disgraced chairman of the E.C Dr. Kwadwo Afari Djan in the witness box an act of God? I blame Ghanaians for allowing ourselves to be fooled by politicians to promote their selfish agenda in the name of God.
In any case, what happened to John Mahama’s so called faith in God when he failed to call the general secretary of his party, Johnson Asiedu Nketia to order when he labeled pastors as “criminals in cassocks”? And what prevented John Mahama from reprimanding Dr. Tony Aidoo for labeling some section of Christians as “lunatics”. Pretty soon Ghanaians should not be amazed if the disputed president come and tell the good people of Ghana that the creation, looting and sharing of the hard earned tax payer’s money through the dubious judgment debt was ordained by God. Did the God of Abraham, Isaac, Ishmael, Jacob Moses ate the “meat down to the bone”?.His Excellency, John Dramani Mahama should tell Ghanaians whether the one who ordained his disputed electoral victory was the “Lord” of the nation of Israel, a country which he failed to send Ghanaian pastors to go and intercede on his behalf or the lord of Ghana, a country where it’s heartless leaders have recklessly eaten ‘the meat down to the bone’. God does not imposed an ‘‘error’’ president on the people, Afari Djan does. Did God hypnotize the presiding officers not to sign the pink sheet with duplicate serial numbers?
Any demagogue can use the name of God ton justify his “sins”. What his Excellency John Dramani Mahama mean “God “ who ordained his disputed electoral victory is something above all human grasp and comprehension, but in speaking about it he lowered it to human conceptualization. We humans desecrate the name of God, defile it, and misuse it .All the negatives that mortal like us attribute to the name of God has robbed it of his radiance. When they call the most high by the name ‘‘God” it seems blasphemous. Of all the human words, the most heavy-laden is ‘’God’’. It has been so tainted, so soiled and so mutilated. Diabolic minded people have laid the burden of their paranoid and anxious life upon the name of God and weighed it to the ground; it lies in the dust and bears their whole burden. They kill for it and die for it, and it bears their finger marks and their blood. Ye hypocrites and sycophants! the name of ‘God’ deserve better!
