Shame! GFA, Shame!

*PRESS RELEASE ON THE UNFAIR/UNJUST TREATMENT METED OUT TO KINTAMPO SHARP
ARROWS BY THE GHANA FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION (GFA).*

The BOMFEH2012 Campaign Team wishes bring to the attention of the general
public the injustice and unfair treatment meted out to the promising Second
Division Kintampo Sharp Arrows team by the Ghana Football Association, GFA
in the on-going FA Cup to the advantage of Accra Hearts of Oak. This
injustice is not so much a threat to the fairness and true spirit of
Excellence of soccer in Ghana as it is a danger to the growth of smaller
teams into the Star Teams that we all hope our local teams become.

It is worthy of note that right from the beginning of the preparations to
play the match between the two teams, the FA demonstrated their bias
against Sharp Arrows and their preference for Accra Hearts of Oak to win
whether or not Sharp Arrows beat them.

First, the match venue was changed from Kintampo L/A park with a metallic
inner perimeter to Sunyani without informing the Management of Sharp Arrows
under the false excuse of no inner perimeter.

Two, the pre-match conference was held though Sharp Arrows was not
represented under the erroneous pretext that the RFA could stand in for
Sharp Arrows on their own accord knowing very well that the Management of
the team had decided a boycott if the match was not going to be played at
Kintampo L/A Park. The decision of the Management to boycott was in direct
response to the concerns of their supporters and the entire Kintampo
citizenry.

All these facts having been raised during the Disciplinary Committee
hearing were deliberately ignored by those whose agenda was to see Hearts
of Oak in the next stage of the competition no matter what in determining
the question of why the match was not played. For them, playing of the
match was not as important as promoting the fear gripped Hearts of Oak in
an encounter with the giants of Kintampo.

Now Hearts of Oak shamelessly is going to play Dunkwa United after
conniving with the FA to deny Sharp Arrows a fair play. The Management of
Sharp Arrows is seeking redress in the Court of Law conscious of the dire
consequence of an expulsion from the FA. We want to make it clear to the
GFA that we the people of Kintampo prefer such an expulsion in defence of
our rights and to curb the recurrence of such brute abuse in future against
any other team than to sit idle and allow the perpetuation of this
gargantuan corruption in our soccer Management Body.

To the Management of Sharp Arrows, the BOMFEH2012 Campaign team, say,
Kudos! Kudos for been Bold and Courageous in seeking the CHANGE that
Kintampo and Ghana need – the thrust of our Campaign. As for the GFA, we
fear not to say that you have shamed yourselves for this singular Whimsical
and Capricious act. It is in your own interest to change to allow other
teams to grow than to continue in the same old rue path of dwarfing
promising teams like the shining Kintampo Sharp Arrows.

It is surprising that Hearts of Oak which touts itself of ‘never saying
die’ would gleefully accept to be the beneficiaries of this unprecedented
soccer arm twisting display of disrespect for fair play. We only wish to
remind them that the cork no matter how deep it is pushed in water shall
surely emerge at the top. It is only a matter of time.

Long Live Kintampo Sharp Arrows

Long Live Kintampo Soccer Heroes

Down with the Injustice/Corruption in the GFA.
