April Fool?

A child's pain after losing a mother A child's pain after losing a mother

The mother of five-year-old Adwoa fell ill, and was admitted to the hospital on January 21. Her aunt took her in so that her mother could recuperate. But on the 28th of that same month, the unthinkable happened—Maame Aba, Adwoa’s mother, passed away.

The funeral and burial were held on February 14, yet it was not until April 1 that Adwoa was brought back home.

The moment she arrived, she rushed into the hall. Not finding what she expected, she quickly ran to the bedroom—still unaware that her mother was gone forever.

With a puzzled look, she came back and asked, “Where is Mummy?”

Aunty Akosua, with a heavy heart, tried to explain what had happened. After soaking her dress with tears and mucus, Adwoa looked helplessly at her aunt and pleaded,
“Please… can you send me to your house?”

What is home without a mother?

An abundance of toys and teddy bears could not replace her presence. Indeed, Adwoa had a loving mother—yet that love cannot compare to the love of God. Because a woman may forget her nursing child or restrain compassion for the child of her womb; but God never forgets His children (Isa. 49:15).

What is Heaven without God? That thought alone is unbearable. In His absence, the unimaginable riches of Heaven—“pure gold, like clear glass… foundations adorned with precious stones… gates of pearl” (Rev. 21:18–2) would mean nothing.
“Whom have I in heaven but You? And there is none upon earth that I desire besides You” (Psa. 73:25).

I look forward to the day when I will be with God (Phil. 1:23). For His love and care surpasses all human understanding—“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard… the things which God has prepared for those who love Him” (1 Cor. 2:9).

Won’t you also desire to be with this God—whose love is unchanging and eternal (Heb. 13:8)? If He did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all, what greater proof do we need to trust His love (Rom. 8:32)?

If you desire to spend eternity with God, NOW is the time.
All you need to do is to believe in Christ (Rom. 10:10), repent of your sins (Acts 2:38), confess your faith (Rom. 10:10), be baptized (Acts 22:16; 1 Pet. 3:21), be added to His church (Acts 2:47), and continue to walk in newness of life (Rom. 6:4).
