Nana Addo On Rescue Mission

The opposition New Patriotic Party Saturday August 7 rose above the storm and proved all skeptics wrong, by holding the most successful and peaceful delegates congress ever held in the country since the return to multi-party democracy in 1992.

The congress that has become the talk of town not only in Ghana but the whole of Africa, and the world, has confirmed the party’s credentials as the pace setters in Ghana’s democratic dispensation.

Before the congress, our detractors had predicted doom, a serious brouhaha, that they believed would lead to a possible split-up, in view of the inordinately competitive nature of the grueling contest.

What our opponents wished for us could not come through because God has a mission for us: a mission to rescue His people from the tight grips of National Democratic Congress; a mission to salvage the nation from the quagmire of socio-economic bankruptcy the Mills-led NDC government is slowly, but surely, plunging the nation into; a mission to reverse the backwards movement of the vehicle of governance in the hands of the lousy president who, as claimed by insiders, is a victim of delusion.

Apostle expects all members of the NPP to celebrate the huge success of the congress together, instead of drawing a line between “WE” and “THEY” or victors and vanquished. I am happy that those whose candidates lost, especially Mr Alan Kyerematen, have this time around learnt to be good losers, and have given indications of their readiness to subsume their parochial and sectional interest into the broad and collective interest of the party.

The outcome of the historic congress has sent out the strongest indication of the party’s resolve to allow itself to be used as the vessel to rescue the suffering masses from the tight grips of the Mills-led NDC government’s “killer” administration.

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, with the support of the Jake-chaired executive, President Kufuor and others, will certainly spearhead that divine rescue mission. Our political opponents and their collaborators are aware of this. That was why they greeted Nana Addo’s victory with banner headlines, such as “Naanana, Na cocaine”, “Nana is a wrong choice, says NPP MPs”, “NPP election was rigged”.

The NDC and its collaborators, as usual, have resumed their judgment and condemnation of Nana Addo. Aside this, they claim the NPP has elected a presidential candidate who does not have the capacity to face the uninspiring and non-performing Professor Do Little. That should certainly be welcome news to them. But, they know how they really feel about the re-election of Nana Addo as our presidential candidate, especially with that overwhelming endorsement.

The judgment and condemnation are certainly part of the diabolical agenda to “re-plaster” Nana Addo with the mud they threw at him in the 2008 electioneering campaign. But Apostle trusts in the Lord that “no weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you” (Isaiah 54:17).

Indeed, the mud will this time around not stick when they throw it at Nana Addo. The electorate have now seen the harm they have done the nation by allowing the political chicanery of the lies-infested NDC to somewhat influence them to reject Nana Addo in the 2008 election.

Ghanaians are indeed reeling under the extremely harsh economic realities which has made life wickedly unbearable for them, hence their cry, Nana gye se wo bamu, to wit, Nana should intervene.

Nana Addo is certainly a servant of God who has been commissioned to lead a rescue mission. He will stand! “Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls. And he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand.” (Romans 14: 4). No matter the despicable propaganda of the NDC, led by the chief pathological liar Richard Quarshigah, Nana will this time around stand, and succeed in his rescue mission.

The heart desire of Nana Addo is to return NPP to the corridors of power in 2012, and to restore hope in the good people of Ghana. I believe he can do it, because the sky is even not his limit.

Would Nana Addo take Apostle serious? Here is Apostle’s message from God for you: “However, as for you, I will take you, and you will rule over all that your heart desires…If you do whatever I command you and walk in my ways and do what is right in my eyes by keeping my statutes and commands…, I will be with you…” (1Kings 11:37-38)

This is God’s assurance: you will lead NPP to achieve your heart desire of winning the 2012 elections. But remember the CONDITION: If you do the right things. Let me draw your attention to some of the right things you are expected to do.

Nana, you need to remain fair and firm in your dealings with all members of the party, giving no preferential treatment to any group of people. Remember you were elected by a Delegates’ Congress, but not a Camp Meeting. This is what will enable you enjoy the sincere support and co-operation of the entire, or the greater majority of the, rank and file of the party.

I have always known you as someone who deals fairly and firmly with all manner of people no matter their background. You are indeed an embodiment of fairness and firmness. But, the problem has to do with some of the people around you. You need to tell them “enough of that behaviour that repels people”. Let them understand that we are now in opposition where people are working out of sacrifice, and sometimes on empty stomach.

You also need to join hands with Jake and Co to ensure that members of the party are at total peace with one another at all levels of the party at all times. This even becomes more expedient when it comes to the major stakeholders who are more or less indispensable in ensuring the success of your rescue mission.

Remember everybody has a part to play to return the party to power. Yes, you can’t do it without President Kufuor; you can’t do it without Alan Kyerematen; you can’t even do it without Apostle.

The success of your rescue mission certainly requires hard work and strategic planning, as well as new ways of doing things. I am convinced you have learnt a lot of lessons from the shortcomings of the 2008 electioneering campaign. Please, let’s try as much as possible to avoid the practices that contributed to the painful 2008 defeat. We simply cannot bear a similar one in 2012.

Finally, Apostle wants to stress that Nana has a divine assignment to lead the NPP to rescue Ghanaians from the killer administration of the NDC. The grounds are being prepared for the success of that rescue mission – the Professor Do Little simply does not have the political acumen to deliver the goods.

Your overwhelming victory at the recent congress has set the tone for effective unity and cohesion. You have the duty to join other leaders of the party to sustain that unity and cohesion to ensure effective campaign towards the accomplishment of your divine mission.

The good people of Ghana are looking up to you for political salvation from the hands of the NDC government. That was why your victory in the congress ignited wild jubilation in every corner of the country

NPP is set to return to power in 2012, to rescue the people from their present unpleasant predicament. May God be with you as you embark upon your rescue mission.
