Columnist: The Royal Enoch

Ghana Is For Sale

I have been awakened by a strange sound
Sleep has forsaken my eyes
I hear footsteps approaching the door
Fists of rage are pounding on the dry earth
There is desperation in the air
My children are in defiance
My children are in uproar
They have gathered to judge me accordingly
Ghana has become too hard a land to live
But would Ghana be easy if we all leave

Dark clouds hover above the brim
They unleash their bitter waters upon the land
Ghana is sick
Hear her coughing
See her shiver with her knees quivering
This is not how we want to see her
No this is not how we want her to be
Quick call in her sons and daughters
She needs them to recover
Or would Ghana recover if we all leave

Human vultures in suits are out 2 prey
They prey on the motherless child
They prey on our helpless widows
Ghana has been stripped naked
Foreign investors feed on her flesh
They take without asking
We give them all that we have
It seems that we care more 4 them
Than we care for ourselves
Where are Ghana's true children
The ones who have been made to roam

It's bulls on parade
And pearls before the swine
It's to God we pray
But it's in money we trust
Ghana is 4 sale
Her rivers are 4 sale
Her trees are 4 sale
Her women and men are 4 sale
Politicians are selling her off in bits
Hurry let's get a piece of this action
Before our children's children come to find something
