Sekyi-Hughes Too Is Part Of The Looting Brigade?

Appearances they say, are very deceptive.

Indeed, the appearance of Begyina Sekyi-Hughes is very deceptive considering the startling revelations that the immediate past Speaker of Parliament is an integral part of Kufuor’s looting brigade.

It is a fact that Sekyi-Hughes is a close associate of Kufuor; but little did I know that by being a close associate of Kufuor, the former Speaker is also in the business of stealing waa waa waa.

In everyday language, Sekyi-Hughes cannot run away from being labeled a common thief.

I read with consternation the story about how Sekyi-Hughes raided his official bungalow and stole every item in the place when he was leaving.

But when I heard the Majority Leader, Hon. Alban Bagbin give voice to the story, and give gory details about the stealing act of Sekyi-Hughes, my jaws dropped.

Indeed, I felt scandalized when the Majority Leader said that had the newspaper which broke the story contacted him, he would have given them much more details.

We have not gotten over Kufuor’s stealing of a national security safe house which he turned into his love nest where he used to “meet” his numerous sex mates, and we are hearing of Sekyi-Hughes’s stealing acts.

According to Hon Alban Bagbin, he was shocked to the marrow when he saw “fiili fiili” the extent to which Sekyi-Hughes cleaned the house dry.

According to the Majority Leader, never in his life has he come across such an ignominious act of stealing by a person who was so high up in society.

Per the ranking, Sekyi-Hughes was the number 3 person in the nation.

In other words, apart from the President and the Vice President, Sekyi-Hughes, as Speaker, was the third most important person in Ghana.

In his capacity as the third most important person in Ghana, the State spent lots of money taking care of him.

Indeed, conservative estimates have it that the State spent close to 4 billion cedis making sure that the residence of the Speaker befitted his status.

I have always known that Kufuor and his looting brigade were in the business of “owning property” by whatever means possible but I had no idea that their stealing acts knew no bounds.

Apparently, Sekyi-Hughes had it at the back of his mind that he would be stealing every available thing in the house that is why he made sure the place was expensively furnished.

All the talk that the NPP people were self-made men before they entered politics has turned out to be empty talk.

Kufuor and his looting brigade entered politics with the sole aim of enriching themselves by any means possible.

Indeed, it is not only Begyina Sekyi-Hughes who took away every government property from his bungalow.

I have it on authority that Steven Asamoah Boteng, is also another person who made sure he emptied his official bungalow.

I hear when Asamoah Boateng was confronted by an official of the NDC, he was audacious enough to say that the NDC was lucky that he did not remove all the doors as well.

Yes, that is the extent to which Kufuor and his looting brigade are telling Ghanaians in the face that they are thieves and they don’t give a damn about their acts of thievery.

Not that I had any respect for Sekyi-Hughes, but this revelation of his gross act of thievery has really made me lose respect for him.

The man stole even electric bulbs, soap dishes, toilet rolls and “bentua”. How cheap can he be?

So what is the difference between Sekyi-Hughes and the riffraff’s who pick pockets?

Indeed, what is the difference between Sekyi-Hughes and Ataa Ayi who is languishing in jail?

Mallam Issa lost $40, 000 and he was jailed for 5 years.

Sekyi-Hughes has stolen close to $400,000 and he is walking free? Lord have mercy!!!

Betty Mould Iddrisu must quickly prepare a docket and haul that thief before the law court.

We have tolerated Kufuor and his looting brigade for too long and we must start dealing drastically with them.

Nana Biakoye is extremely happy that the National Security Advisor, Brigadier Joseph Nunoo Mensah, has stated emphatically that he will advise the President to make sure that Sekyi-Hughes returns every single thing that he stole.

It may seem petty but we believe that the NPP must not be allowed to run away with its loot.

The extent to which Kufuor and his looting brigade have pillaged the nation’s wealth, is too much.

According to Hon Bagbin, Sekyi-Hughes stole “aaaaa” and stole a soap dish. That is the nauseating levels to which Sekyi-Hughes stooped.

Nana Biakoye cannot stop thanking God for delivering Ghana from the hands of Kufuor and his looting brigade.

Only God knows the extent of looting and thievery that would have gone on under the watch of Akufo-Addo and his gang.

I am just hoping and praying that the laws of the land will be made to work to the letter so that these senseless thieves are brought to book as soon as possible and sent to jail if that is where they belong.

Ebenezer Begyina Sekyi-Hughes has disgraced himself and the high office he occupied and he should be ashamed of himself.
