Nothing Will Stop Atta Mills From Being His Own Man.

If some people think that they can use “buga buga” tactics to intimidate Professor Atta Mills and get him to work against his conscience and do their bidding, it will not work.

The records have it that in 2000, Prof Mills stood his grounds and chose Martin Amidu as his running mate, when it was Obed Asamoa that the establishment wanted.

I am sure we all know that it is because Prof Mills did not choose Obed as his running mate, that has led to Obed’s deep hatred for Prof Mills.

In 2004, according to what the former first lady said on Joy FM a few days ago, Professor Mills went against the establishment and chose Alhaji Mohammed Mumuni.

Indeed, when the former First Lady talks about Prof Mills being treated with “kids gloves” in 2004, it was because Prof Mills made sure nobody bullied him into taking a decision he was not going to be comfortable with.

What it means is that, Professor Mills has established a trend of being his own man and standing by his decisions.

If in 2000 and 2004, the good professor stood his grounds, I don’t see why, after winning by an overwhelming 81.4% to lead the party, he will capitulate and allow anybody to force him to do anything that he does not want to do.

Atta Mills has proven over the period that he has been his own man and in this crucial election year, he will be his own man more than ever.
