A New Ghana under Free Market Akufo-Addo is Impossible

The NPP organisation called The London Group, through Ayishatu Nimoh only as a channel of communication, have spelt out for us why a Nana Akufo-Addo Government will definitely fail, to which we add, whatever falsehoods the Statesman peddles. See article of Saturday, 22 March 2008 titled Open letter To Akufo-Addo. The reasons they have given are numbered below.

They are (1) NPPist sycophants and opportunists; (2) NPP “them and us” culture; (3) NPP nepotism and ethnic sentimentalities and disposition; (4) NPP true foot soldiers will not feel appreciated and rewarded in power. The rest are (5) NPP ministerial posts are created solely as reward for buddies and cronies; and (6) NPP people are primarily selfish and in politics to make money and cannot therefore be ‘good above self’, and implement transparent policies and decisions. With respect to item (2), we note reports elsewhere that in NPP only serious moneyed political funders are allowed to talk at party meetings.

The evidence shows that under Nana Akufo-Addo, poverty will not be eliminated for Ghanaians who do not want to live in reduced poverty. In the National Patriotic Prison we call Ghana today, overcrowding will continue to contribute to a prevalence of communicable diseases, medical facilities will be inadequate, and prisons will supply only the most basic medicines. We know that Ghanaian prisoners will continue to rely on families or outside organisations for additional food, medicine, and other necessities. We also know that shortages of food, bedding, and clothing for many Ghanaian prisoners will continue to persist. We also know that protection against arbitrary arrest and detention under an Akufo-Addo government will continue.

How do we know? These are the NPP legacy he says he intends to build on in truth-refractive language that defies factual reality for which some lawyers are experts at weaving. It is worse if they are unqualified. The central question Ghanaians should be asking themselves while the Okoampa-Ahoofes are pruning the black soil ready for a CIA coup in case, say CPP wins against all Pro-Nkrumaist predictions to the contrary, is this: Is Akufo-Addo fit to Govern Ghana?

It must surely have come as a surprise to many, as reported on General News of Sunday, 16 March 2008, that Nana Akufo-Addo actually said, to quote him, I would create a new Ghana, unquote. His actual physical condition when he said this was not reported and we could not confirm it since his Spokespersons have not denied the allegations that he is a drug addict still taking illegal substances.

But according to the report from Cape Coast, Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo (why have two Addos in the same name!), who is the Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), did say he would create a new Ghanaian society that is built on the principle of truth and value for human rights, when elected president.

This news is very worrying, as it has been reported elsewhere that those who take illegal substances when very high can see fantastical and delusional visions and dreams that the free market can shock drug-takers into. See Dark Days in Ghana for the personal drug-induced shock that soldiers experienced, written by Kwame Nkrumah for instance, where those who had the guts to undertake rebellious and lawless acts were said to be high on the illegal substances that it is alleged Nana Akufo-Addo is still taking.

According to this most extraordinary report from which the effects of free market drug addiction may not possibly be ruled out, the new Ghanaian society will be built on three foundations. They are (1) good governance, (2) freedom of speech and (3) the rule of law that has been laid by President John Agyekum Kufuor. And this is the most shocking aspect, to repeat, that has been laid by President John Agyekum Kufuor. Really? Which such foundations did President John Agyekum Kufour ever lay?

We do not recall verifying if the Elected Flagbearer understands the legal basis of freedom of speech and rule of law, as he has to our knowledge not produced the legal qualification he has been challenged to produce by General Mosquito. We can however recount some of the evidence, some produced by his own Free Market US friends for his education, which is there for all to see.

We recount how Mohammed Harruna, a journalist with the Accra Daily Mail, was manhandled by two state security agents in a car park of the Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra on 23 September 2003. This took place during the inauguration of a charitable foundation by President John Kufuor and former US President Bill Clinton.

The agents confiscated his camera and accused him of not being authorised to attend although he was carrying an official invitation issued by the justice ministry. See the Ghana - 2003 Annual Press Freedom Report for such numerous violations under President John Agyekum Kufour.

The US Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labour, which released their issued report on March 8, 2006, listed violations that also cast doubt on Nana Akufo-Addo’s claims for NPP rule. The violations included Police use of excessive force, which resulted in deaths, vigilante justice, harsh and life-threatening prison conditions, Police corruption and impunity, arbitrary arrests and detentions, prolonged pre-trial detentions, Infringement on citizens’ privacy rights. Free Markets do these things.

The rest are violence against women and children, female genital mutilation (fgm), societal discrimination against women, persons with disabilities, homosexuals, and persons with HIV/aids, trafficking in women and children and ethnic discrimination and politically and ethnically motivated violence and child labour, including forced child labour.

We note here again the silence of our entire political class and Parliament on the plight of our daughters from the northern parts of Ghana reduced to beasts of burden (kayayei) in Accra and Asantehene’s Kumasi.

On torture and other cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment or punishment, the report said the constitution and law prohibits such practices, but there were credible reports that police beat and abused suspects, prisoners, demonstrators, and other citizens. It is the Free Market US annual Human Rights Report on Ghana, and not Iraq or Saudi Arabia or Palestine or Black Ghettos in USA itself, which catalogues these facts. Considering that there is also corruption in all branches of Kuffour’s government, which foundations of good governance, freedom of speech and the rule of law of President John Agyekum Kufour is Nana Akufo-Addo referring to? This is what happens when possible Free Market drug addicts without qualifications also want to be President following the effects of illegal substances on the inmost psychological core of their thinking being. We need to be sure this man is drawing sane and sound inferences from facts; it is important therefore that Nana Akufo-Addo clears his name over the drugs allegation.

If he is NOT taking illegal substances as alleged, but he is ignoring such glaring hard indisputable scientific facts of gross and pervasive human rights violations under NPP Free Market Ghana, then we may be electing a mad man into the former Free Market slave castle. A mad man, who is prone to illimitable psychotic hallucination removed from all factual reality whatsoever. A fact that Okoampa-Ahoofe has been working hard to hide from us just as he habitually conveniently forgets to tell us that leading Danquah-Busia-Dombo men of substance like Dr. Joseph Boakye Danquah were unpatriotic paid CIA agents. No doubt people like Akanland hate Ghana.

What is even causing trepidation in certain quarters is that Nana Akufo-Addo falsely added that he would transform the national economy into a more vibrant one. But Nana Akufo-Addo’s solution for transforming the Ghanaian economy, which he has told us, is indigenous capitalism defined essentially as small business investment. This we all know will never fly.

It cannot therefore be true that Nana Akufo-Addo is ready and committed to move the country out of poverty, corruption and injustices, to a more democratic country, where there is rule of law and freedom of speech. This simply cannot be true because Free Market Indigenous Capitalism will further undermine democracy, good governance, sustainable development and reproduce maintained majority poverty, corruption, injustices and Free Market anti-Democratic economic policies.

We know for sure, and so warn Ghanaians, that Nana Akufo-Addo, whatever he tells us now, will simply continue the same mantra of free market milestones. Whoever likes should mark this warning somewhere for future reference. The NPP reputedly gave us promises of serial lies and for office they will tell all the lies they can conjure waa waa just as a man chasing a young woman and ready to prove his manhood will tell necessary fairy tales. These are the same people who drove nails into the skulls of fellow Ghanaians because they did not want independence. So, he has now added transparency in the oil business and the production of salt in large quantities as his way of creating that vibrant economy. It does not occur to his Free Market Indigenous Capitalist Team that without a development plan for eliminating poverty in Ghana, these are just two of a long line of projects that cannot develop Ghana for Ghanaians.

He forgot to tell the Zongo chief and the Omanhene of the Oguaa traditional area, Osabarima Kwesi Atta II, as well the University of Cape Coast (UCC) a key fact. This is the fact that whilst he is busy building dreams based on non-existent foundations, Paul Acquah and his Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the Bank of Ghana along with unelected foreign officials in the Ministry of Finance will be implementing an alternative policy and vison. It will be their private unmandated fiscal and monetary policy and their private unelected vision. This is the unelected vision for which Paul Acquah won a spurious continental award which he is expected to anti-democratically continue to pursue.

And yet Nana Akufo-Addo is reported to have been giving us the assurance that he would be a leader, who would help improve upon the living conditions of the average Ghanaian. He also claims that he would make history in the politics of Ghana, when President Kufuor hands over power from an NPP government to another NPP in January 2009. It is as if he already knows the results of the 2008 election. Well, strangely, Kibaki of Kenya and his fraudulent Free Market friends also knew Kenya’s electoral results before the election was even held. Why is Nana so certain that President Kufour will not hand over to a CPP Government or an NDC Government since he Nana is not an Ashanti?

He may have this ambition to make history in the politics of Ghana; but there is no policy evidence that he will improve the living conditions of the average Ghanaian. What we know for sure is that as President, he will have all the wealth and privileges he wants. But in that same desired 8 year Presidency, the majority of Ghanaians shall remain poor. How do we know this?

We know that in both theory and practice the free market produces poverty for the majority and wealth for the privileged few and professional minority. His admirers including the Sarpongs and Okoampa-Ahoofes have been quick to remind us either that poverty cannot be eliminated in Ghana or coup-makers who have imposed poverty on us are Ghanaian heros. They have also correctly observed that a just and free society does not exist under the global free market dictatorship that is imposing on us all a single anti-democratic free market that has inspired human right violations on all sides even in communist China.
