Hall of Shame: Mzbel, Sex Perverts & Beauty queens

It is not often that an artiste complements fame with shameful acts, but for Mzbel, that is her reality. Her world has been one, full of nectars attracting chunk of social misfits. She needs little introduction, as I hear she is known even in Outer Mongolia as the under-socialized girl who visited KNUST(campus), on the bill of a musical concert, but like the pathological stripper, chose to exhibit what she does best- exposing delicate body parts. She met her match and the rest is history.

I have no resentment about her lyrics. She can continue to fish for words in the dictionary of sex, I careless. In any case, this is not a sermon to cleanse an already infested log.

This world would surely not cease of mysteries. Was it not this girl who was gang-raped by some miscreants? Is she not the one baring it all for the feeding eyes? It is no wonder floozies are her disciples. In vain, you wait for her to change.

Gosh! She just got wedded! Taking marriage institution as a free market zone, she has provided a new theorem. Am still trying to visualize, the hell, this girl must have gone through, hiring people to throw confetti at her.

So engrossed in acts injurious to her burgeoning talent, she does not know Liberia and the Methodist Church in Ghana have banned skimpy dresses. Her genius has been to arouse the helpless hormones in guys, and it is so disgusting she does that even on camera. Eureka must have had such in mind when he said ‘those who corrupt the public minds are just as evil as those who steal from the public purse’. Who told you she has no relatives? Huh! They have deserted her as a face-saving mission, after she defied all methods of subjection to the standards of moral decency. Am no prophet of doom, but I can say with double assurance, that the day of reckoning is near. Am afraid, nemesis would beat her to submission and consign her to the dustbin of history where she rightly belongs.

A reflection of impotence has come to bare in Africa, am wondering when Desmond Tutu became so malleable, that he sees no wrong against the consecration of a gay bishop. I cherish Madiba for the unflinching determination he exhibited during his 27 years of incarceration. I also adore him for circumventing the iron laws under the apartheid system to emerge as the first black president in South Africa.

But I have my reservations as to how his barometer has malfunctioned. I simply cannot accept why his Rainbow nation registered themselves in the ugly pages of African history by signing into law, on December 1, 2006, the freedom for those sex perverts in society, homosexuals and lesbians to indulge in same sex marriage.

I am unable to stomach reasons proffered by the Mbeki’s government after having succumbed to the vile arguments of these perverts. Though the Good Book had prophesied of these insane times, I least expected such disease, known of the western world to find its way into Africa’s sexually conservative societies. It is dreadful several analysts have rushed to ascribe the passage of the law, to an initiation into enlightenment. This is a grave misreading, and one capable of luring the rest of the continent into the abyss of infamy.

In these times, when our beloved Ghana, is grappling with the spate of moral decadence that has not spared religious settings, these infernal nuisances would not let us have our peace. Huffing with rage and shouting at the top of their lungs, they advance claims to allow for their freedom.

Probably, at the recommendation of Ambassador Theo Yakah of the Wake Forest University, they chose our backyard as their conference center. These deviants, it may interest you to know, were wittingly bringing Armageddon right to our corridors. Thank God, we never allowed them. The view between nurture and nature regarding gay behaviour is simply baseless. The tolerance of it will encourage innocent children and adolescents. in their experimental and formative stages to gravitate towards this unholy act.

If exponents of these sinful acts think they have legal backings for their outcry, then, they must provide same for the kleptomaniac and others with them in the hall of shame. The Biblical witness is clearly against the practice of homosexuality. God did not intend for male and male, or female and female to have sexual relations. As the popular saying goes, "God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve!". The Law of Moses said, "You shall not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is an abomination" (Leviticus 18:22; 20:13). It also condemn "sodomites," which were male temple prostitutes (I Kings 14:24; 15:12; 22:46; II Kings 23:7). Some would argue that these male prostitutes were for the female worshippers, but it was primarily the males who involved themselves in the cultic worship of the pagan temples. The male prostitutes were for the purpose of homosexual acts with other men.

The NT is just as clear on this issue as is the OT. In Romans 1, Paul was demonstrating how the Gentiles have failed to live up to the revelation of God given them. He wrote of the many evils they did while suppressing the knowledge of God revealed to them (Romans 1:18-21). Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion" (Romans 1:26-27, NIV).

Now that they know there is no succour under the heavens, I advise they visit the harshest place in hell to get a scintilla of support.

Much as we loathe homosexuality and lesbians, we must also rise to the occasion of castigating persons who hide under the cloak of ‘gospel artistes’, yet are seen in pagan dresses. Notice must also be taken of the way companies and organizations, supposedly for social development, have lent themselves to the shameful enterprise, of sponsoring on-air stripper shows called Beauty Contests. That, these companies map out strategies to outbid one another is deeply worrisome. One is also taken aback at the roll call of personalities gracing such functionaries. These dignitaries are surely preachers of virtues, practitioners of vices.

My beef lies not only in the conducive atmosphere, created by these contests for morally-corrupt girls, but the rapidity with which these girls make overnight millions start making good ones doubt their sanity. Whichever lens through which you look at the turn of events, we must join hands with the Vice-President to help hammer the ugly head of indiscipline. A dragon from the Hall of Shame has been thrown into our midst. We must make sure its fire does devour us. It is also never too late for those with blisters to learn how to sit on them.
