My history with ‘witches’

The false alam peddlers.
Our society is a religious society.
Religion itself is a form of peddling of falsehood. Ours is a society that saw the cow jumping over the moon.
There are various people both high and low who peddle falsehood that lead to the murder, maiming and name calling against a person, both low and high.
As a child I heard a lot of falsehood peddled against Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
The opposition said that he had a fetish called Kankan Nyame.
They claim that all the projects he did were over bloated and call them either sinking houses or just white elephants.
He was alleged to have arrested and imprisoned hundreds of people who oppose him.
And it was that falsehood that lead the military and police to overthrow him, not without receiving money from foreign governments for doing so.
In Ghana especially among the rightists who have the penchant of insulting and name calling.
A president was alleged to have created, looted and shared.
I am not sure if John Mahama use the civil service or civil servants who were in charge of tender during his administration to create, loot and share.
So the fact is that Kwame Nkrumah was lynched many times, not forgetting the granades that were thrown at him several times.
John Mahama was lynched many times with all sorts of falsehood and rumor and some of the rumors are generated by current President Nana Akufo-Addo himself.
It was rumor and falsehood that lead to the lynching of the nephew of John Mahama, just because he was Maxwell Mahama.
The one who gave the order for the armed robber to be lynched was the District Chief Executive for the area, appointed by Nana Akufo-Addo.
