Your Children Are Crying For Help
Dear Mr. President..,
I am a citizen of Ghana and one of the retrenched workers of the NMP. I just want to pose this question to you: Have you forgotten about the over three thousand NMP workers that were forced out of job by your government?
We are indeed suffering in the hands of your Government. Any intervention you bring turns to favor only your party members’ .Mr. President I can prove what I am saying. This is not an allegation that I am making. Don’t you feel pity for us? Your government sacked us since 2001, when you first came to office; up till now we are still jobless .Your judgment over our dismissal was misplaced.
You and your agents accused us of being agents of the then N.D.C. If this were a crime then you have also committed the same crime by replacing us with members of your ruling NPP. For me however, the NMP was and could still remain an effective instrument for community mobilization and emergency response.
Mr. President, I am not a lawyer but you would agree that it is a matter of natural justice to pay people their due compensation if you dispense of their services without any misdoings found against them. I wish therefore to appeal to you to take steps in your power as the father of the nation to reverse your not to pay our benefits in the interest of fairness and justice to all. If this is done, we can say that you are the President for all Ghanaians but not for some Ghanaians, a principle you appeared to uphold seriously when your party was in opposition
Your children are suffering even though government says the economy is good. How can those of us feel that the economy is better? Your Excellency time is running out for us. If you’re Government thinks we do not matter we do in many ways. You are awarding some people who served this nation one way of the other. We think that you could treat us fairly so that your good name will go into history so that we can share your award with you in .happiness. Mr. President, think about this in your sleep. Good bye.
