625 Cops To Specialize In Human Right Issues

The Police Service is to train 625 station officers in human rights issues to enable them to handle different categories of people they meet in the course of their work.

It forms part of the good governance programme initiated by the government with support from the UNDP to promote institutional reforms in the service.

The IGP, Nana Owusu Nsiah, made these known at the launching of the second phase of the Government/UNDP, “Thematic Trust Fund Project” for the Police Service in Accra yesterday.

He explained that the programme would help to change attitudes, methods and procedures to enhance the technical capacity of personnel in information management systems.
