Rawlings appoints Anku-Tsede, high-commissioner designate

Accra, June 18, GNA - President Jerry John Rawlings, in consultation with the Council of State, has appointed Lieutenant-Colonel Ebenezer Anku-Tsede (rtd) as Ghana's High Commissioner-designate to Sierra Leone.

This was contained in a statement issued in Accra on Friday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Lt.Col. Anku-Tsede ,65, who is a graduate of University of Ghana, entered the Military Academy and Training School (MATS) in 1966 and was commissioned as a Lieutenant in 1972.

During his 20 years of military career, he held various responsible positions and rose to become the Director of the Armed Forces Education service between 1984 and 1987.

He retired in 1987 and in 1992 was elected as a member of parliament on the ticket of NDC for Ho West.

Lt. Col. Anku-Tsede is currently the Managing Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the State Housing Corporation.
