Yes; Ghana Needs You Alive!

(Okyeame Tells Ghanaians)

Folks; your good old Okyeame greets; he wishes you good health and Merry Christmas. Okyeame is never a soothsayer, nor does he qualify to be a prophet: But very well-informed, my predictions will be exact, if I tell you what, as loyal members of the one and only Scripture Union, you are expecting from your leader as we prepare zealously for the yuletide.

In fact, you deserve much more commendation for the support you offered me throughout the year, although, it has never been easy. But as we all prepare to shepherd-in, the New Year, it is important that we acknowledge the support we enjoyed from the general public, which has brought us all this far, and with timely and accurate information in support of our vision. Even though, I have not yet officially drawn the curtain to signify leave of our activities for the year, I may humbly use this opportunity to say Ayekoo to each and every one of you, for your commitment and dedication to make dreams come through.

Before I come your way with my end of year remarks, kindly permit me, folks, to use this medium to once again update you on the latest of information trickling in on to my desk. It was about the sudden u-turn on the part of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) after the noise they made in regard to the payment of judgment debt to Mr. Alfred Agbesi Woyome. Indeed, you should be amazed. Yes; we have all known the NPP as a political movement to be anti-development. That party is quick to criticize, and employs very dirty tricks to create all kinds of impression about its formidable opponents, anytime it’s not in government. But its recent frivolous action towards the legitimate judgment debt, under a circumstance created by it Kufuor administration, exposes it badly, and makes it vulnerably predictable.

To be honest with you, folks, I gaped for a few seconds, because, I least expected the NPP to beat such a fast retreat after all the ugly noise earlier made by hot-headed persons like Kennedy Agyepong on the airwaves about the current government in view of the judgment debt paid Alfred Woyome. One wonders whether these guys put their brains to good use, at all. I don’t intend insulting them but the fact of the matter is that, the chaps have shown and proven to be political comedians and maverick funny creatures that should not be taken seriously anytime they comment on issues of national import; and I mean, they are a bunch of timid hypocrites, who have no sense of direction as politicians.

Is it not pure madness, that after all the hubbub of disparaging comments passed at their last Tuesday’s Press Conference about Madam Betty-Mould Iddrisu to the extent of calling for her dismissal from government, claiming that she did not do due diligence in the Alfred Woyome’s matter, but have suddenly been gripped by fear now that the President has directed a probe into the issue so as to ascertain the truth, and are calling to beg him to be considerate, and not use comments from characters like that egg-headed Assin North MP to judge them? Guess why they are calling the President to hold on to his decision, if they know they have nothing to fear as the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) commences investigations as directed by His Excellency Professor John Evans Atta Mills?

I told you right from day of this issue that, the NPP will chase its own shadow, and I have been vindicated. Folks; I will pause for now to allow my trusted hands working on this paper to come with their revelations; and I swear, it will blow your mind as to how top NPP members have been having sleepless nights. Now to you all; please, listen and listen carefully as I bring you my X’ MAS message. In fact, Mother Ghana needs you very much and as you celebrate this year’s festive season, I will plead with you that you conduct yourselves in a more decent manner, so you do not get yourselves into trouble.

Particularly our drivers; with all the forces under my command, I am humbly appealing to you, to be very circumspect as you commute people to and fro their various destinations for the yuletide. Please, don’t drink whiles you drive, since you have much to do this season.

In fact, the gory accident on the Obuasi –Kumasi road should be the first and last: And to the rest of you, be careful because Mother Ghana cherishes and wants all of you alive, period!!!
