Columnist: The Informer

Why Mr. President Must Swiftly Probe Into The Resignation Of NPRA's CEO

Commentary

This is the very third piece The Informer has rolled out on the ravaging developments that are taking place at the National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA). Developments that could collapse the entire NPRA set-up hence the pension fund.

The Informer, unfortunately, though had tip-off of all the plots that were being hatched by a group of people led by Mr. Richard Kwame Asante, the Board Chairman of the Authority, stopped short of telling all well-meaning Ghanaians the actual callous plots that were being hatched by Mr. Kwame Asante against President Mills’s administration, since The Informer was spending some time to gather the needed facts.

Information gathered by The Informer indicates that Mr. Asante had written all kinds of wild letters to people including the Chief Executive of the NPRA, with the intention of infuriating and frustrating them so that he, Mr. Kwame Asante could have the chance to pursue his diabolic plans, including rendering the NPRA unfit and unworkable under President Mills’s administration.

The Informer is, therefore, not surprised that Dr. Sedor, the Chief Executive of the NPRA has resigned less than a week after the second publication on the canker that is drastically wiping out the gains so far chalked by President Mills and his able team, to get the NPRA on a very sound footing.

Revelations are that, Mr. Kwame Asante is doing everything possible to stall all functional activities aimed at achieving the grand corporate plan of the Authority under President Mills’s administration.

The question that beseeches for answer is: what does the cold-hearted Board Chairman risk to lose if he sees through the successful implementation of this new pension scheme?

Traitor and heartless as Kwame Asante is , he must at least also think about the millions of Ghanaians, especially, those in the informal sector who will be saved by this new pension scheme, and stop being selfish.
Has Kwame Asante soon forgotten the message given to the board by H.E. the President, Professor Evans John Atta Mills, reminding them of the heavy responsibility entrusted on them, especially, with regard to the many lives in the informal sector?

The Informer is once again reiterating its holy stance to Mr. Kwame Asante that, regardless of how close he is with other traitors of the NDC government, his unholy and diabolic plans would not flourish and that, the new pension scheme has come to stay and will see the light of day under Professor Mills’s administration; by God’s grace; Insha Allah..

Possible actions to be taken by Mr. President in light of these revelations should include the following:

1. Institute inquiries into the issues that have led to the resignation of the Chief Executive.
2. Reconstituting a new and dynamic board to oversee the governing of the NPRA.
3. Sign and agree short, medium and long term performance pacts with these Board members.
4. Direct the rapid deployment of contact offices and staff of the authority in the country.
5. Query the existing board on its failures.
