Who Jujued Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo?

Many NPP sympathisers are saying privately that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, NPP’s Flagbearer for next year’s general Election, has been jujued by some unknown forces surrounding him. Some are even bold to say that those who are currently managing him have bewitched him; therefore, Akufo-Addo who is running for the highest office in Ghana does not seem to know what politics is all about.

I have said time without number that politics is all about numbers. The highest the number of votes you garner the better it is for you as a politician. Otherwise, politicians will never go down on their knees, sometimes under the scotching sun to beg ordinary people for their votes.

Therefore, you have no business running for office especially the highest office of the land if you do not know or acknowledge this basic fact that sheer numbers are the pivot of politics.

Mr Paul Afoko, NPPs National Chairman, mysteriously suspended indefinitely by just 11 members of the party’s National Executive Committee, on Friday October 23, was declared the National Chairman when he easily beat the incumbent Chairman, Jake Obetsebi Lamptey by 2,032 to 66 votes on Monday April 13, 2015.

Paul Afoko won the NPPs national chair race in his own right. He coasted to victory on the backs of 2,032 delegates, yet only 11 members of the party met and gave him the marching orders from office. And we have Nana Akufo-Addo who blatantly ignored this fact and put his seal of approval to the dismissal of Paul Afoko from office. We have just 11 people poking their hands into the eyes of 2,032 delegates who queued under the scorching sun in Tamale to vote for their favourite candidate, Paul Afoko.

Any time anybody questions the authority of Akufo-Addo, attention is immediately drawn to the fact that more than 95% of delegates voted to make him the flagbearer of the NPP. What that means is that Akufo-Addo carries or is carrying the mandate of the 4 million members and sympathizers of the NPP. We are therefore of the view that it is only the votes or mandate of Akufo-Addo that counts, and not other elected executives.

Kwabena Agyepong, the beleaguered General Secretary of the NPP is next. He also polled 2,529 votes to beat loud-mouthed incumbent Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie during the election. Yet, this guy is being treated with contempt by Akufo-Addo and his hirelings, who falsely believe that Kwabena Agyepong’s mandate does not count and that he’s only a drop in Akufo-Addo’s ocean.

Mr Sammy Crabbe another perceived “enemy” or “rebel” of Akufo-Addo was also elected the second Vice Chairman of the NPP, but again this man is under severe siege by aids of the Akufo-Addo who are bent on running down anybody who does not kowtow to the flagbearer.

This is the state of affairs in the NPP today, with Nana Addo being the King who does not entertain any dissenting views. Akufo-Addo wants to walk on everybody no matter who you are and your past and present contribution to the NPP all the way to the Flagstaff House. Anybody who dares raise his/her voice to comment on any pertinent issue concerning the NPP is either flattened with barrage of insults or threats, which has led many people just to keep quiet whilst Akufo-Addo dances towards his own impending political defeat.

Nana Akufo-Addo seems to have lost it, thereby leaving many to strongly believe that the NPP flagbearer has been jujued, therefore he does not seem to be serious with his political campaign, because his attitude seems to be scattering rather than gathering votes. Akufo-Addo no longer has a mind of his own.

The NPP flagbearer for 2016 is simply swimming or being blown apart by anything his handlers notably his cousin Gabby Otchere Darko says or does. Nana Akufo-Addo does not analyze anything before towing the line as far as those handling him whisper in his ears that, “Don’t mind them, it’s coming from enemies to your 2016 success”.

Many NPP sympathizers are shaking their heads thinking that Akufo-Addo is leading the party to political disintegration because of the arm-fisted way he is leading the party. A so-called democrat who cannot stomach political dissent! Akufo-Addo has turned himself into a smooth political operator who does not comment on anything, but smoothly and diligently works behind the scenes to ensure that anybody who dares to question anything he does is cowed into submission.

Nana Akufo-Addo has been considered as not a serious contender in the 2016 Election because he does not care how many votes his perceived enemies, Paul Afoko, Kwabena Agyepong, Sammy Crabbe and many others will chisel away from him. Probably all what Akufo-Addo now cares is to be considered as the most violent and ruthless politicians ever to walk on the face of Ghana.
