What Is Happening To Agya-Atta’s Wedding??

Many are those who get happy whenever their beloved child is about to get married. On the other hand others also get worried just because they are about to lose their beloved to another family. In totality one would say that the bells of any wedding or marriage ceremony comes with lots of mixed feelings thus some beautiful and others awful.

In fact such was the case when the Kufuor government decided to give our lovely “Ghana-Telecom” daughter to the Queen’s “Vodafone” son for a lovely marriage. While some of us were absolutely enthused with the move; others were absolutely furious and they were more than willing to “die” just in protest of this marriage. Notable among the protestants was Agya-Atta; now the father of the nation. This was someone who told Ghanaians that we were capable of managing our own affairs [i.e. Ghana-Telecom]. And many were those who started drumming and dancing when Agya-Atta made that statement. Therefore Agya-Atta and his NDC folks decided to make it a campaign slogan to review the “Vodafone-deal” if they were elected into office and this promise was written in their manifesto. In fact some of them even went to the extent of telling and making us to believe that their review was going to bring a lot of good things to Ghanaians. However, on assuming office the NDC government orchestrated a political charade by putting in place a committee to investigate the “Vodafone-deal”. Hence, this gave the NDC sympathizers the opportunity to start disturbing our ears with their cacophony that their government had fulfilled one of its greatest promises. Indeed, some of us said that the “Vodafone review” was just a merry-go-round. Nevertheless, like children on a merry-go-round the government was being motivated by its praise-singers on the ground so they went on. The committee finished with their review work and submitted their report [i.e NDC’s campaign propaganda about Vodafone] to another committee which they preferred to call a “Team” in order for them to re-engage with Vodafone. And up till now absolutely nothing has come out of the whole “Vodafone re-engagement” meaning the re-engagement is a never ending story, I guess?

So my simple question is; what has Ghana got out of the NDC’s re-engagement with Vodafone so far and what is Ghana going to get at the end of their re-engagement? Hmmh, or it was just a smart way of putting something gibberish on paper in their quest to drink gallons of tea and pay to themselves fat allowances? Anyway, I’m not surprised that they have started another merry-go-round with the E.O. Group and the least said about that the better for now.
