Welcome home Nana Akufo Addo

Let me be among those who are welcoming Nana Akufo Addo home from his trip abroad. It is nice to see that Mr. Akufo Addo has the means to go abroad for medical checkup. It is ironic that Mr. Akufo Addo never in his campaign made it an issue that many Ghanaian voters do not have access to the medical attention that he just got.

Of course not everyone can afford things that others can, but many of us die needlessly for lack of medical care. I would think that someone who wants to be President would care to provide basic medical care for the people of Ghana rather than to flaunt how he can afford to take trips overseas for medical care.

This is not jealousy despite what some may think. Ghana government continues to spend money defending an election that Mr. Akufo Addo lost because of Mr. Akufo Addo's ambition. This money could pay a doctor to help avoid doctor strike. For decency's sake, Mr. Akufo Addo could have waited until the court case was settled unless it was an emergency which doesn't seem to be the case. Yes, President Mahama was in London. He was doing the nation's business.
