Weep not mate, for I forewarned you about fiendish NDC

My long term friend Kofi has been an avid supporter of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) since 1992.

Verily, Kofi really has subjective fit for NDC’s culture and principles. Apparently, his love for NDC is next to that of the founder of the party, Jerry John Rawlings.

Since the inception of the NDC Party in 1992, Kofi has been working assiduously to defend and promote the party’s ethos of probity and accountability.

But Kofi has seen enough of the rot and he is currently threatening to walk out of the NDC Party.

According to Kofi, he has been defending the party’s principle of probity and accountability for well over twenty three years, but won’t be able to continue as the sleaze and corruption have reached immeasurable proportions in Mahama’s government.

Kofi insists that the last straw was when President Mahama unjustifiably gave Madam Akua Donkor of Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) two four wheel drive cars and a luxury bungalow for no work done.

Kofi’s indignation stems from the fact that he had worked his socks off all those years for the Party to enjoy power for well over fifteen years and has nothing to show for his efforts.

Meanwhile, parasites like Madam Akua Donkor are needlessly being showered with all sorts of melodic gifts.

Do I feel sorry for my mate Kofi? No. In fact, I forewarned him about the impishness of the leaders of the NDC Party. They don’t have the interests of the nation at heart.

“Here is your stone mate”, Kofi morosely conveyed to me.

I was not belying the facts when I told you that the leaders of the NDC Party don’t mean well for the nation, I retorted.

As a matter of fact, the founder of the NDC Party, Jerry John Rawlings supplanted power through coup d’état.

He did so under the pretext of acting as a peripheral Panacea, but he cunningly spent a little over eleven years and bettered his life and that of his family before lifting the ban on political parties in 1992.

In fact, Rawlings only succumbed to the internal and external political pressures for him to step down and allow multi-party democracy.

Subsequently, he lifted the ban on political parties in 1992 and resigned from the military simultaneously to allow him to contest election.

Subsequent to his retirement from the military, Rawlings went ahead and formed a political party, which he named as the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

There is also an anecdotal report that the NDC Party was formed through a coalescence of jail breakers, coup makers, cocoa thieves, unreasonable palm wine tappers, lawyers, inexperienced school dropouts, babies with sharp teeth, repentant prostitutes, pugilists etc.

Is there any truth in that rumour? Do you know?

Well, what I am aware of is that the NDC Party was founded by a coup maker called Jerry John Rawlings, who took the lives of many innocent Ghanaians to pave way for his political career.

So, NDC Party was born out of violence, and apparently the violence has gained stubborn roots.

For if that was not the case, how on earth could NDC members, ranging from Cabinet Ministers, Deputy Ministers, National Executives, Propagandists, to foot soldiers defend the three Montie boisterous brats impishness?
