We are better together as NPP

I must confess that it has been heartbreaking for me to see the NPP having every opportunity to win the elections of next year but currently engages in acts that tend to divide us rather than unite us for the much cherished victory next year.
Everywhere in Ghana, the electorates are saying that the government of John Dramani Mahama has failed dolefully in all facets of governance. The high unemployment rate coupled with the massive corruption and general high cost of living in the country are not things Ghanaians are willing to vote for in next year’s election, neither will they also vote for a disunited party.
It is depressing to say the least how the NPP is always in the news for bad reasons.
Any national officer who wanted any position in the party and was elected in Tamale made it very clear that he or she wanted to help whoever was to be elected as Presidential candidate of the NPP to win political power.
Fortunately for the NPP, Nana Akuffo Addo was overwhelming elected as the Presidential Candidate of the NPP for election 2016. This is the time that all officers of the party from the polling stations to the national level are expected to work for an NPP triumph.
It is appalling the state of affairs in the NPP. It started through leaked tapes, internal memos of the party ended in the media and now a misunderstanding about an accounts which was in existence even before the current crop of national officers were elected, went out of gear! It is unacceptable the way issues of the NPP are not addressed through the constitution of the party or the lay down grievance procedure but rather in the media.
This does not portend well for a party that is desirous of capturing political power next year. The discourse was about the NPP’s call for the compilation of a new voters register for election 2016. The debates and arguments were flowing nicely. How did the NPP manage to distract its self from such a laudable project as submitting massive evidence to make a case for a new voter register? The party hasn’t been fair to its self at the turn of events.
It is not late at all to get together to present a formidable front for election 2016. The excruciating suspicion amongst the national officers especially must be nipped in the bud. Every officer of the party must learn to team play. We must see victory in 2016 to be our preoccupation. Whatever needs to be done to drive away that bad monster that has found its way into the ranks of the NPP must be done and now.
We only have one Presidential Candidate in the person of Nana Addo. He is the only one we need to work to get to the Flagstaff House. We can solve our party problems from the blind side of the media. We can solve our party challenges exclusive of the CID. The Criminal Investigative Department of Ghana is not a wing of our party. We have Council of Elders, We have our parliamentary leadership. Nana Addo has always called for a united front and he is deeply committed to that.
Nana Addo and Dr Bawumia have started touring the regions to preach the need for the party to rise and work together for victory in next year’s election. This is what must engage our attention. The NPP shouldn’t be the same party putting stumbling blocks on its way.
We are better together as NPP. Let’s work together for victory. We have to come to the quickest realisation that the bigger cake is when NPP is in government. A victory for Nana and Bawumia is a victory for all of us. After all, how many positions can Nana hold when the NPP is victorious next year? Let us remember that we either swim or sink together as a party. Ghanaians will not forgive us ever if we fail them because of our internal intolerance and troubles.
May victory be that of the NPP next year Amen!
