Vigil Surge, Power Barge and Kilowatt Polemics

That the power would go off should not be a norm. That’s unacceptable!
That power barges cannot be delivered should be treated as public deception.
That businesses be made to strain and the few jobs left be lost is unfortunate.

The personality attacks on the people who are championing the cause, simply childish
The attackers would know later that sometimes when we must heed the collective interest.
The truth is that, nobody; not even the president is happy with the current state of affairs.

Thanks to the loud attackers, many more people will join to express a legitimate concern
Thanks to the vigil, when the lights are back; we will all enjoy it as a people.

As for the issue about creative arts and divisive polemics, it is and was to be expected
As is the jumping into the fray of political parties and groups in the name of “support”
As for opposition; they’d better brace up to the reality that, if it must be solved it matters not who is there

Roll back the years; to January 2012. Anas Aremeyaw Anas’s Tiger Eye team released an investigative documentary titled, “The President’s Assignment – Stealing the People’s Power,” phase 2 of that three part series was a list of debtors to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).

Thousands and millions of Ghana cedis were owed by private and state owned companies, MMDAs were complicit as were even key arms of the government machinery (Presidency, Parliamnet), the hullabaloo died before long.

Today we are told, the power crisis is not financial but technical, another day; it is infrastructural and super structural. I tell you what all of this is; comical and suicidal. Proponents of #dumsormuststop have one concern; fix it and whiles at it, let us know what’s up.

For what shall it profit a man to gain the world and lose his salvation translates in dumsormic terms as follows: for what AT ALL shall it profit Ghanaians to have money and can’t buy as common a utility as electricity. Habba! Where did we go wrong?

Aboadze ooo, Sunon Asogli ooo, Tico 1 and 2 ooo, Bui ooo, Akosombo ooo, generation ooo, transmission ooo, distribution ooo, hydro ooo, thermal ooo; this is NOT what we bargained for. It must be fixed and as quickly as possible.
