Try as much as possible not to find yourself on the wrong side of the law. When you see people extremely happy, chances are that someone is in trouble. We are very good at it; it’s a human thing. Let’s try not to live simple lives. Life is not as complex as we think.

“Ei, Efo Sammy, you are here. You are welcome o. How is the family? Nice one. I have been waiting for your call saaaa. Oh, you called and I didn’t pick it? Maybe network problem. We are also doing fine. I know you have caught me in a highly pensive mood. I was going to call somebody o. Since I picked up to make that call, I couldn’t remember who I wanted to call. Old age is not the problem; I am the problem.”

Today is Fridaaaayyyyyyyyyy! No advice or admonition works on this day. Try Monday morning. For now, you are free to blame everything on “network problem”!

There is a Nigerian axiom that says: “Monkey smart, monkey smart; it is all because the tree branches are closer.” Many great people become great because of what others impacted into their lives.

That is why I have a problem with a chunk of the youth who are not interested in mentorship. The majority only have a sense of entitlement. You want to coach some people and it’s like you are bothering them. Did you know that the one who taught Michael Jackson how to do the moonwalk dance that brought him global fame is called Jeffrey Daniels? He was a member of the Shalamar music group.

Michael Jackson actually paid him money so he would teach him how to do the moonwalk dance. Jeffrey Daniels was the first person to dance the moonwalk on TV (courtesy of Kofi Kum Bilson). Today, the youth want you to pay them before you can teach them. But here is the thing: Michael Jackson we know, but how much do we know about Jeffrey Daniels? Almost zero!

The young ones we want to teach today want to teach us, but we have to pay! Jobs dey, but boys are not ready to do the jobs, especially if it is not a BoG job. Open a shop and entrust that shop into their hands – you are doomed!

Shout-outs to all those who pretend to be talking on the phone just to avoid giving tips to sales boys or sales girls. You are winning by the grace of God.

I just embarrassed myself. In an attempt not to give a tip, after the guy had finished washing my car, I pretended I was on the phone while entering the car to drive away. Luck was not on my side – the phone rang in his presence while I was still talking on it.

To the brotherhood with this old and mundane strategy, remember to silence your phone whenever you intend to dodge tip payment. Azaan nkoaaa!

Ei, who saw the video of Addo Dee as a Rev. Minister? The hat with which he was decorated is nice and biiiig. Halleluyaaaaaaaa! Amen! I am done; you want to bring me problem; I swerve!

Why is it that most of those who studied Political Science at the university hardly go into politics? You would find them in the banking and finance space, whereas some of those who studied Banking and Finance are seriously into politics, shouting often under the subterfuge of solving people’s problems while solving their own family problems. Very uninteresting.

The first time I entered politics was in 1999 as a student.

The way I lost that election er. My close friends were the ones who voted against me – is this strange? No. Na so we dey, human beings. It was a JCR election where I contested as JCR Vice President at KNUST. It was around that same time that a UCC student who was my mate in Achimota contested a position as SRC President and lost, even as an unopposed candidate. Yea. That thing er. Hmmm!

Me and politics? I would rather pursue my everyday kaya-kaya like that. I don’t want to be solving other people’s economic problems whereas the real intention is to solve my ancestral poverty problems. Nothing wrong with that though.

People would describe politics as dirty, yet the same people would start looking for politicians when they need help. “Do you know anybody at the Ministry of Kenkey?” Here, it is either that person wants kenkey to eat for free or wants an opportunity to supply that ministry with pepper. Any attempt to circumvent the process of getting things done is an attempt to compromise a politician. We later call for their heads when… hmmmm!

Let’s keep deceiving ourselves. Someone would say corruption is only spoken against by those who don’t have the opportunity to “touch money”. True? Maybe to a large extent; maybe not! Indeed, “being a man is finishing a man?”

Last Sunday was such a great weekend for me o! I went to exercise my body in order to burn some useless fats and some toxins in my system. You know it’s easier to acquire a big stomach than to deflate it.

I later called some friends around Makati Hills to go and enjoy omo tuo with a lot of meat and “wele, s3b3, kontonmire”! Exercising is a very good lifestyle.

We drank beer too after the exercise to spoil the essence of the exercise. Yes, we are like that. Sometimes I tend to believe that eating a good diet is better than exercising o. If you are to eat all the junk food in the world with the thinking that you will go jogging on Sunday to burn the fat, how much of the fat can you burn in even 10 exercise sessions? See my stomach – gboom gboom!

Airbag promax! Solid empire! It’s similar to saying you would drink poison, after which you would throw it up. How much of the poison will come out, and what effect wouldn’t the poison have on your body? Exercising is good, but eat a good diet devoid of too much junk food.

Eat wele, s3b3, kontonmire and not too much carbohydrates and meat, as this can increase your glucose level when the insulin is not sufficient to transport the excess glucose in your system, thus leading to a condition called ketoacidosis resulting from diabetes! Medical grammar is sweet only when you don’t test positive for any useless health condition.

Did you know that ketoacidosis can actually make one collapse into a coma, thus leading to death? Eat good food and enjoy life responsibly. Don’t allow your next of kin to waste your money. Of course, they have not worked for it, and so blowing it nyafunyafu on useless things becomes their hobby.

This life is hard, but it’s sweet. Let’s take good care of our bodies. But when medical professionals say you should eat well, what exactly do they mean? Me, I don’t know because the last time a doctor saw me eating egg, sausage, bread and koko with milk, she cautioned me against eggs and milk because of my age. So where comes the “eat well” factor? I taya.

I met my former nutritionist recently; he has a potbelly. Matter closed. He said: “Ei, Mawuli, long time o.” I responded: “Of course, why not!”

Have a great weekend, but remember not to be careful. Just do the right thing, negatively. Simple!
