Time to hear Ghana; In 73rd UN General Assembly

In a matter of days, the United Nations (UN) General Assembly will be up at New York - USA, the World will get an opportunity to hear out leaders from across the globe with varying issues and points of view on matters ranging from poverty, environment, terrorism etc.

I’m writing to encourage the world to pay a closer attention to H.E Nana Akufo Addo Addo Dankwa, the President of the Republic of Ghana.

In not so distant past, the few African Leaders who managed to grab attention on this platform were mostly for the wrong reasons ( depending on how you look at it). Muammar Ghadafi of Libya (late) and Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe.

In President Akufo Addo, should the World pay a closer attention, they will hear a voice of truth and determination, a true African patriot living the ideals of Dr. Kofi Abrefa Busia, (Prime Minister of Ghana between 1969-1972.

Freeing the energies and minds of the African for Development and prosperity is what I’m talking about. Socio-economic policy initiatives such as Free Senior High School and One District One Factory are ambitious goals that are today a reality under Prez Akufo Addo.

On March 6, 1957 at Accra Ghana, the then Vice President of United States of America, Richard Nixon was present at Ghana’s independence ceremony as a former British Colony and was so impressed with the Speech by the then Leader of opposition in Ghana’s parliament Dr. Kofi Abrefa Busia that he called for it to be widely distributed across the globe. Such pragmatism and buoyancy of thought and truth is what Africa needs to be successful in today’s world.

President Akufo Addo is living that speech and ushering Ghana into a new era beyond aid in the process.

Africa needs friends and strategic partners. Nana Addo is offering the leadership and example needed to establish the Centre-right political /ideological system as an institution worth embracing. When he succeeds, Not Ghana Alone but Africa and the world does. Someone hear Ghana out!!!
