The NPP-Inspired Revolution.....yes we did!

The 8 year rule of NPP has made Ghanaians very wise. In a way, the NPP has helped Rawlings achieve the social democratic revolution tat he has craved for in Ghana. I was amazed on Monday night to see the IGP himself negotiating with irate voters who besieged the EC headquarters with only one aim: to protect the notice of intent they delivered with their thumbs. The situation could have gone out of control had someone made the wrong move. The military contingent wisely withdrew after assessing the situation. Earlier, on election day, I saw the force of civil action in Anloga and Keta. The NPP thugs camped at Keta Beach Hotel were lucky to be alive today. They will have stories to tell of their humiliation by lean and malnourished teenagers. Unknown to the NPP honchos, the Anloga-Keta area, including the islands and archipelagos behind the Keta Lagoon is teeming with the ex-soldiers that the Kufour-led government callously dismissed for the simple reason that they were Ewes. In addition, whoever sent none-Ewe speakers to Keta Beach Hotel was a fool. We had them monitored right from the time they left Accra (some came via Ho – fools). On the Friday before election day, I had driven more than 400 km through the villages behind the lagoon. The message we carried was simple: Sunday 8th December was to be treated with the seriousness of a war effort. We organized for the infirm to be carried to the polling booths; we convinced the traders not to cross the border; we stocked food at vantage points for those who are forced to earn their living across the border so they could take time off work. (I rekindled the old UP network that the current arrogant fools running the NPP have persistently refused to tap into or do not know how to. Courage Quarshiegah could not have helped. He has no political base. Their DCE Ahiabor is a kid who is drunk on power. Poor NPP.)

At Whuti, the mention of the name Tsikata did the magic. We exploited the NPP self-inflicted sores to the maximum.

The pilot of the military helicopter that landed at Ketu-South must be congratulated for his quick-thinking. Word had come via the mobile phone of ‘planes ’ heading to the Volta region. Eventually, one helicopter was traced to Ho and the other to Ketu South. The information on the ground was that the planes were carrying stuffed ballot boxes. The vigilant youths resolved that nothing would come out of those planes and nothing came out. The one that landed in Ketu South was the one that nearly came to grief. People emerged from all round carrying all kinds of accoutrements/The pilot of the military helicopter that landed at Ketu-South must be congratulated for his quick-thinking. Yes we did it. Tain will be the icing on the cake!!
