Stop using state resources for personal gain

The secretary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission Ghana, Alhaji Addul Wahab Issah, has expressed concern over the use of state resources for personal gains by some public officials.

He described the practice as unfortunate since those resources were being expended at the expense of the taxpayer who usually footed the cost of such illegitimate acts.

According to him, those who engaged in those acts did not only lack self-control but were also selfish.

Alhaji Issah expressed the concern at the 36th annual national conference of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Organisation Ghana (AMYOG) in Tamale in the Northern Region.

The conference, which brought together more than 3,000 Ahmadiyya youth across the country, was on the theme: “Self-discipline; a panacea for national under-development”.

Indiscipline
Alhaji Issah noted that without discipline and love for the country, the nation would not move forward in its development agenda.
“How many of us are not tempted to use office gadgets or facilities for our own good without asking who pays the bills?” he questioned.
He, therefore, admonished Ghanaians, especially the youth to desist from all forms of indiscipline acts at their workplaces and homes.

Exemplary lives
The President of AMYOG, Mr Abdul Noor Wahab, called on the youth to live exemplary lives in their communities to reflect the true teachings of Islam.
He expressed concern over the continuous use of social media and radio to hurl insults at the elderly and political opponents in the country.

Advice
The Deputy Northern Regional Minister, Alhaji A. B Fuseini advised the Muslim youth to live above reproach.
He said many of them had deviated from the teachings of Islam through their conducts and utterances and asked them to rededicate themselves to Allah.
