So, is Nana Addo that desperate?

I read with disbelieve the article that a Monk somewhere in China or Tibet has predicted that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the twice defeated presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is set to be President of Ghana in 2016.

Incredible, l could only say to myself: Is this the latest in his scheme and those around him, the Gabby’s and Ken Ofori-Atta’s, to get their cousin to be President at all costs?

After their ploy to impose him on the party, willy-nilly, it appears the ‘all of a sudden’ Monk’s prediction is the latest by his handlers to hoodwink the NPP faithful to get Nana Addo to be their presidential candidate for an unprecedented third time.

So what happened to all the prophecies made in the run-up to the 2012 elections? Or is that the Nana Addo camp now, do not have faith in Ghanaian prophets and evangelists? How sad!

The story alluded to Nana Addo’s disappointment at not following in his father’s footsteps to become President, confirming the belief of many people that Nana Addo believes in the Presidency and therefore his tenacity to hold onto the dream, even in the face of obvious difficulties.

Despite his age, what Nana Addo and his handlers must realize by now that their man can never win an election in Ghana. The reason is simple: the NDC see him as an anathema and always rally, almost to a man, against him.

If despite his age and obvious unpopularity with the Ghanaian public, Nana will still lose if he is put up 10 times by his party.

NPP members must wake up and look for a fresh face who can invigorate both the party and the general public to electoral victory. The time to act is now for later will be too late, as we have seen to a disappointment.
