Democracy is a human interactive system of government with the following key elements political system for choosing and replacing the government politics and civic life; the protection of the human rights of all citizens; and a rule of law, in which the laws and procedures apply equally to all citizens through free and fair elections; the active participation of the people, as citizens.
Democracy is a means for the people, the constituents, to choose their leaders and to hold their leaders accountable for their policies and their conduct in office and I believe that it is the democratic rule that enabled you to be appointed or elected by your party, NPP,as its General Secretary.
I will rather call you, Mr. Owadwo Owusu Afriyie, because it seems like that is your real name. Thus, I am not going to “Sir” you or call you “John” because your attitude makes you undeserving those later two attributes or names. As a General Secretary of your political party, NPP, you should incarnate the virtue of a servant leaderwho upholds nothing but the truth, and stop making unfounded politicking statements. You must mind your business and concentrate on promoting the platform of your party instead of making innuendo; false statement that you personally know that it is unfounded!
Anyone aspiring for a post or a job must ensure that he or she fills every dot and Ts. Your application form should be completed carefully and neatly, because failure to do so can be translated as lacking professionalism, attention to details and being inconsistent.
Furthermore, filling the form hastily and hoping that extra time will be giving later to produce a complete form is a sign that the aspirant lacks the notions of time management and lack of positive impression. These cardinal rules are applied in any professional life and let alone when you try to become President of a Republic! If you cannot pay attention to details and complete a mere presidential candidacy form, then how can you rule a country? Where in hell did you come up with the idea of your slightest mind that President Mahama is behind the disqualification of the presidential ticket of former first lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings? Don’t you think that launching this irresponsible attack on the President is uncalled for in this time when he is trying to ensure a peaceful and transparent election so that we Ghanaians can continue to enjoy the democracy that others in the sub regions would like to have in their country? Mr. Owadwo Owusu Afriyie, don’t try to make much ado about nothing and do not try to quench fire where there is no fire to fight! You better mind your business and shout your okra mouth if you have nothing better to say on the media because other people are reading what is online. What could happen if the entourage of the President or the EC launches a lawsuit against you for blasphemy? You will cry foul and call for help, I believe so. You are a disgrace to our democracy.
