Road Crashes Killed 540 People In Ghana In Three Months

Road crashes killed 540 people in Ghana between 1st January and 31st March 2011 and it is not news to any radio presenter, social commentator, politician and the country as a whole.

The solution to these avoidable deaths on our roads will be found only when as individuals, politicians and the country at large we recognize that the number of deaths on our roads have reached the MAXIMUM we can tolerate. Does it mean that the loss of 540 overwhelmingly healthy people most of whom were the breadwinners of their family and about 1500 people becoming disabled for LIFE can be tolerated by us as a country?

The next quarter will record a similar number of death and disability and every person in Ghana is a potential statistic.

Can you tolerate losing a family member through an avoidable road crash during the next quarter?

Road safety is LIFE and does not always require expensive solutions.
