Respect The President And Former Presidents

RESPECT THE PRESIDENT AND FORMER PRESIDENTS, YE PEOPLE OF THE LAND.

Ghanaians and any other people in this country must
learn to respect the presidents of this blessed country. The president
is a leader of this country and therefore must be shown that respect in all
situations.

One thing that Ghanaians must know is that democracy
does not mean “lack of respect" but it is only a chance given unto every
person to express his or her intention. In the dealings of every Ghanaians they
must know that the decisions of the president is a supreme decisions made not
authoritatively but made through the concern of the elected representatives by
Ghanaians. Any person of any rank and of
any political party, whether for or against the ruling party is not having the
guts to talk to the president in any manner that pleases that person.

The respect Ghanaians give to their president show
their allegiance to the state, allegiance is not about only respecting the laws
of the country but one thing that every Ghanaian must know is that respecting
the rules of the country also entails the respect that Ghanaians also shows to
their president. Ministers of state and the opposition must all respect the
president and the best way for Ghanaians to respect the presidents is not
flouting the decisions or standing against the decisions made by the ruling
government or the president but rather contributing of ideas is the best thing
that one can do towards the decisions by the president.

Politics is not about disrespecting one another, but
cooperating towards the building of nation or country through dialogue and
sharing of ideas to bring about peace and development. The president is
directly elected by the people and so there is the need for the people to show
respect and give in their support, the president must be guided by the people’s
opinion and ideas in order to function well and to "be on his toes"
but not to disrespect him. The disrespect shown towards the president is
sometimes aided by the mass media that is, the radio and the television
channels. The mass media must also be very cautious in their shows and never
allow certain personalities to destroy the reputation of the president and any
other former president of this country

Ghanaians must give the president and any other
former president of this country the maximum respect that they deserve for their
dedication and love for the country is not to be taken for granted but rather
to be appreciated.
