Re: CPP and NDC are Loser Clones

The feature article with above title by Kwame Okoampa-Ahoofe, Jr., Ph.D of Tuesday, 16 September 2008 is full of lies.

First, NDC and NPP are the true clones from the same PNDC parents, J.J. Rawlings PhD and J.A. Kufour PhD. CPP is not a clone but the original party, which led Ghana and Africa to independence.

Second, Papa Kwesi Ndoum is not a mischievous lunatic in hot pursuit of a mirage since he has certificates and does not smoke illicit drugs unlike Ahoofe’s preferred choice of Nana Akufo Addo.

Third, Mr. Richard Lamptey’s tactical goal of at least 30% of the votes is both sensible and in line with organisational strategy specification and implementation. The fact that the CPP has only three seats at the time Ahoofe checked indicates that the strategy is in line with commonsense.

Fourth, the CPP is not desperate to scapegoat deputy speaker Freddy Blay for its steadily tumbling fortunes and it is false to make such claims, which is a notorious character trait of Ahoofe. In addition, it is too soon to state with any categorical accuracy that the CPP is headed for the garbage can of Fourth Republican Ghanaian political history. Again, such arrogant certainty is a known trait of Ahoofe.

Fifth, the CPP contests Ahoofe’s declaration that Freddy Blay is “arguably the most astute of parliamentarians sporting the CPP’s crimson cockerel.” He cannot “arguably” be because Ahoofe posited no arguments to prove this but rather cheap posturing. We are unable to determine the source of Ahoofe’s severe faulty judgement that “Mr. Blay is astute to near-genius”. We can only conclude that he Ahoofe is suffering from a lack of sheer sagacity; and he must understand, unless he lacks a modicum of this capacity too, that he cannot determine for the CPP what conclusions it must marshal with respect to its misbehaving and undisciplined members such as Freddy Blay. We challenge Ahoofe to prove arguably in the case of Freddy Blay how supporting your political opponent in Parliament is statesmanship.

Sixth, the description of the CPP as “effete, pseudo-socialist and otiose” is false.

Seventh, the allegation that the goal of “Komenda Kwesi to recoup at least a moiety of the whopping $ 11 million supposedly lost through his 16-year flirtation with Ghanaian politics” is unique to him is palpably false. This is rather the goal in Conservative-Liberal Politics of which the NPP are past masters.

Eighth, we have noted Ahoofe’s assertion that “no political party becomes a buffer power broker with a mere three parliamentary seats – two, when one counts the effective loss of Mr. Blay’s – and less than 10-percent of the national ballot in a 230-seat parliament effectively controlled by two major parties.” This is obvious to political kindergartens and Ahoofe ought to stop wasting our time with such obvious trivialities, which litter his piece in the literal sense of the word litter.

Ninth, the assertion that the NPP is full of a “membership astute in creative and productive thinking” is plain lies. The history of Ghana contradicts this and rather shows the NPP to be astute in destructive thinking in the literal sense of the word. We all know how they cut open pregnant women and drove nails into the head of Ghanaians. The murders of Yaa Naa and Mobila are still fresh in our minds.

Tenth, the P/NDC atrocities detailed in Mike Adjei’s book ““Death and Pain in Rawlings’ Ghana” (see the Ghanaian Statesman)” was only made possible because the leading members of the NPP served in the same PNDC, propped it up and consolidated the current liberal-conservative socialist state for the liberal-conservative political class. Nevertheless, as usual, Ahoofe continues to lie about the real nature of the PNDC as a collaborative liberal-conservative venture that spawned both NPP (the conservatives) and the NDC (the liberals). How could Ghanaians have become human targets for shooting practice at the Teshie Military Range as well as elsewhere across the country if the likes of John Agyekum Kufour had not served in it and given the illegal regime respectable legitimacy?

Kwame Okoampa-Ahoofe, Jr., Ph.D., claims he is an Associate Professor of English, Journalism and Creative Writing at Nassau Community College of the State University of New York, Garden City. He also claims he is the author of 18 books, including “Reena: Letters to an Indian-American Gal” (Atumpan Publications/lulu.com, 2008), his 12th and latest volume of poetry.

Nevertheless, his submissions in English lack simple clarity, his journalism is not exemplary and his writings lack creativity. We can only conclude that he is damaging the brains and intellect of students at Naasau Community College.
