Racism: the greatest enemy of unity and development

Racism is one of the world’s major issues today. Many people are not aware of how much racism still exists in our school, work places and anywhere else where social lives are occurring. It’s obvious that racism is bad as it was many years ago.
Comrades, RACISM exists and it’s about time people started thinking about the instigations and solutions of this matter. Many people believe that it depends on if a person was brought into the world as racist or not but that is not the case at all. Infact an individual can not be born a racist but only learn to become one as they grow from childhood to adulthood. Basic causes of racism are:

1. Mainstream
2. Institutions
3. Government
4. Anti-racism groups and even some hidden events in Canada’s past are a few of the possible instigations and solutions to racism.

To begin with, frustration is a very common cause of racism. If one is having some sort of social problems, they tend to get very angry with people who are not concerned with their situation. For instance when a person has a tough time economically, they find it easy to blame immigrants for taking away their jobs or creating fewer opportunities. This is a typical example of what happened in South Africa early this year (2015). They described it as XENOPHOBIC ATTACK but I call it RACIST ATTACK.
Dear readers, this evil practice is gaining root of late. The last time I visited Accra mall for instance, I met a group of white - coloured skin people just some few metres to the entrance. The moment they saw me, they removed a bunch of banana from their bag in the name of killing their hunger. From all indications, they were trying to call me a “black monkey” but they have refused to acknowledge the fact that “red monkey” exist which is not so different from their skin colour.
Folks, inspite of that drama, I refused to decend into the gutter with them. I did not allow my ID to control my EGO. Thanks to my SUPEREGO for playing a vital role. I must confess, it is not everybody who can control him/her self in that manner. Once upon a time, Robert Mugabe could not control himself and this is what came out of his BUCAL CAVITY.
“Racism will never end as long as white cars are still using black tyres,
Racism will never end if people still wear white clothes to weddings and black clothes to funerals,
Racism will never end as long as those who don’t pay their bills are “black listed” and not “white listed”
But I don’t care, as long as I’m still using white toilet roll to clean my BLACK ANUS, I’m okey”.
He was criticized heavily for the above coments. At other times, I try to site with him taken cognizance of situations Ghanaian footballers like Kelvin Prince Boaten and Sule Ali Muntari have gone through in Europe. Blacks in some parts of the world were banned from hotels, and churches made them sit in a black gallery called “nigger heaven”. Edmonton banned blacks from swimming pools ; public parks and Victoria banned them from good seats in movie theatres. If people learn about these events when they are young, they might grow up with more respect towards other racial or cultural groups.
In conclusion, racism is not an ability that people are born with but it is based on how an individual is raised and what they learn when they are younger. There are many solutions in this planet to prevent racism. However, this does not mean that such attempts would put an end to racism because racism will always exist as long as we live. But what the government and institutions and the rest of the public can do is to help minimize racism. It is very shameful that many people feel such hatred towards a group but maybe if they try to deal with the change and personal frustrations maturely, they can be able to get more comfortable around the minority groups. People are people if one can be broader minded and does not base other individuals on their skin colour and accept them for who they are, it will be a significant step towards minimizing racism.

Folks, this is where time will permit me to end. I promise on my honour to stage a comeback with a more punching episode.

God bless all my readers, God bless mother Ghana.
