Politics In Central Tongu Constituency

We Are Very, Very Happy With Hon Joe Gidisu – Mp For Central Tongu Constituency

I write to react to a series of media publications of a non – existent “Rural Youth Platform” christened to be operating in the Central Tongu Constituency, mentored by Mr. Jones Afari Jnr. and his cabal.

In the first place, it must be stated categorically that this cabal is unknown to a large majority of well meaning citizens of the Constituency and it is really surprising for these unknown elements to hide under the freedom of speech concept to label our hard – working MP the way they were doing.

This cabal unknown willingly by their act are out to promote rather than to destroy the Hon MP. If their work is based on a research finding, then I dare say that the findings lack the most important ingredient of any meaningful research – there is no comparison.

In terms of the performance and out-put of MP’s nationwide, I predict to say that our Hon Joe Gidisu is among the 1st –10 hard working ones in terms of party organization social intervention and interaction , support for his constituents in terms of education and training, job- creation and the overall welfare of the citizenry. His financial support for needy and brilliant students and other trainees knows no boundary and I think the best person to explain this is one, MR ALEXANDER GABBY HOTORWODZE who received tremendous financial support from the Hon MP.

Hon Joe Gidisu’s commitment to the development of the constituency in terms of the provision of social infrastructures is evidence and the embodiment of the man for any meaningful research to reveal.

I do not want to comment on the statistical findings of the Platform on percentages of people who would vote or otherwise for the NDC if Hon Joe Gidisu stands for the 2012 election, because their writing is the figment of their own imagination as the cabal is unknown in the political arena of the Central Tongu constituency. However it will be a big blow to the constituency and NDC if Hon Gidisu declines to contest the seat, come 2012.

The other accusation of flamboyant life – style and putting –up of mansions by the Hon MP is a clear indication that the cabal does not know the man Mr. Joe Gidisu before he entered active politics. National Security and the Auditor General could best attest to the fact that Hon Gidisu’s dwelling places at ADIDOME, AKLAMADOR and KLAGON were built before entering politics in 2000.He owned his first car as a graduate teacher from Legon in the 1980’s and was using cars ever since.

Those of us who lured Mr. Joe Gidisu into active politics in the 1990’s were convinced of the good qualities inherent in him particularly his integrity, care for the needy , his generosity towards society and his avowed object to help the helpless in society. Mr. Jones Afari Jnr and his cabal are not qualified to judge Hon Gidisu because they do not know him well and they do not belong to his class.

I want to let this cabal know that H.E President Mills appointed Hon Gidisu as the Minister of Roads and Highways for Ghana Roads , not only for roads in Central Tongu , and with the limited resource s of Ghana, things must be shared evenly. That is what government and Hon Gidisu are doing.

I personally hate what some people like this cabal stand, for in our political history- the dangling of false paradise and the stirring up of stupid and illegal hatred among the trusting masses by telling malicious and libelous stories and other terrible crime against other leaders; knowing well that they are false, but telling them continuously with the sole aim of destroying such leaders. I hate people who stand for this and will continuously hate and detest them so long as there is a breath of life in me.

If such people want political power they are advised to go to the communities and place other policies before them and contest elections alongside with others.

Finally I want to advise Mr. Jones Afari and his cabal that if their intention is to run falsehood about Hon Gidisu to pull him down and to enable them climb to personal fame and honour, then I say, it is very premature and unfortunate. Again, if this cabal have a clear motive, good conscience and are sincere and honest citizens of Central Tongu Constituency, then, they should go and apologize to Hon Joe Gidisu and the good people of the Constituency. We do not deserve this, even from without. We are very, very happy with the performance of our Honourable Member of Parliament, JOE GIDISU.
