GIA says all flights operating normally again

Accra, May 8, GNA - Ghana International Airlines (GIAL) on Monday announced that it had recovered from a technical fault that caused the cancellation of its flight on Wednesday May 3 and was now operating normally.

A statement issued by GIA said the fault, which was detected during routine inspection before each flight, affected the Accra-London-Accra flight.

The statement said this was the first technical cancellation of GIA in Accra since it began operations on October 29 2005. It said the airline had enjoyed a 99.56 per cent dispatched reliability rating.

"Since its inception, GIA has enjoyed the best performance record out of Accra. For the week April 23 to April 29, the last full week reported, GIA enjoyed a 100 per cent on time departure schedule with all flights departing and arriving," the statement said.

GIA also announced that it would introduce enhancement to its services and several new destinations in the next few weeks.
