Not Only Mobilla! Rawlings Seek Justice for the Dead Under Your Watch

*By Akadu Ntiriwa Mensema, Ph. D.

JJ Rawlings: “‘The best hope we could have given the people was to give them back the justice they lost in the previous regime. I have mentioned poor enquiries in the Mobilla and other cases and called for more thorough investigations’… Rawlings was speaking during a courtesy call on him by a delegation of Chiefs, Members of Parliament, Regional Ministers, DCE¹s and other identifiable groups from the Upper West Region” (Ghanaweb March 17, 2010).

JJ Rawlings
Our seasoned executioner
Cries, cringes
Shouts, shrieks, scream
Foams at the mouth
Mouthing foamy holier than thou
Foaming politics of deceit
Hauling
Taunting
Summoning Mobilla’s ghost
Summoning Ya Na’s ghost
Bathing in the blood of Mobilla
Sauntering in blood
To cleanse his murderous rampage
To douse the haunting fires of blood
Theatrical production of congealed blood
Bloody politricks to win Northern Chiefs
We weep for the Judges
At dawn when Akan chiefs visit
JJ must invoke the Akan Judges
JJ knows their killer
It is JJ Rawlings
