Nana Amma Fun Club: Encouraging Ghanaian Women

It is the aim of this author to promote great minds and competent Ghanaians who can help push Ghana forward when they are spotted. Nana Amma stands out here. There is no doubt about Nana Amma?s aptitude, competency, and skills of leadership. As a lady she needs the support and encouragement of Ghanaian men who are hungry for change. This would spill on to encouraging many great Ghanaian women of her kind to come out openly in public to affect national policy in the right direction. For too long we have not been given our women our ears and support. This ought to stop today if we want Ghana to move ahead.

The contributions of Nana is so outstanding. SIL needs to honor our honorable lady who has been up and going on her feet to carefully read articles comment productively and sometimes straightening the facts. Nana Amma reminds this author of Yaa Asantewaa of old. What would we do if we see Yaa Asantewaa in person today? Honor her??? Cuddle her??? Make her president of Ghana or what?????

Folks Ghana needs progressive and knowledgeable women like Nana Amma Obenewaa. Our lady needs our heartfelt support and encouragement. As a strong admirer of Nana Amma's progressive ideas and her love for Ghana I hereby propose NANA AMMA FUN CLUB.

I hope Nana will accept this humble offer. If or when accepted there should be a chapter in all the Universities and Girl?s schools in Ghana. Nana Amma may then energize and educate or encourage them on public and civil issues. ?Go Girls, Ghana needs you too!?

The goal among other things would be to encourage more Ghanaian ladies to get involve in public and national issues. Women are great analysts and highly practical yet they stay away in public life. How long can we afford to lose their contributions? How long would Ghana and Africa allow culture and tradition to rob us of our rich human capital,-women? This ought to stop.

Women are naturally great managers. They have proved their salt by raising us up and nurtured us.

Over to you SIL. Lend me your support today.

Okyere Bonna, Secretary,
Ghana Leadership Union.
