Nana Addo takes leave

President Akufo-Addo has finally taken leave off his busy schedules.

The head of state, whose resolve to turn around the economy of Ghana, coupled with his “I’m in a hurry” mantra barely allows him enough rest, left the country yesterday for London, United Kingdom, to take some rest.

This was contained in a statement from the Jubilee House signed by Director of Communications, Eugene Arhin.

It is the first leave since taking over the administration of the country on January 7, 2017.

He was accompanied by the First Lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo, his children and grandchildren.

Although he is on leave, President Akufo-Addo is billed to honour two public engagements – one of which will take place today.

He will speak at the University of Oxford, as part of its 2018 Africa Conference, on the theme, ‘Enough Rhetoric! Catalysing an Era of Concrete Action.’

Tomorrow, 12th May, he will deliver the keynote address at the London Business School’s Africa Business Summit.

On 13th May, the president will take advantage of his vacation to attend the confirmation ceremony of his grandson, Louis, at his (president’s) alma mater – Lancing College, in Sussex.

He is expected back home on Wednesday, 16th May, 2018.
