It is an undeniable fact that reporters in Ghana easily flock to NPP events. And it is also an understatement to state that the NPP controls more than 80 percent of the media outlet in the country today. But this does not mean that the NPP is a better party than the other parties in the country. It is simply the way the NPP when in power under ex-president Kufour for 8 years, used money and other enticements to sway the media unto its side.
As a result, there is no NPP event which would be short of reporters. I believe if the NPP is even organizing an event in less than 10 minutes anytime anywhere, it would take them without sweat to mobilize newsmen to cover the event. Unless something changes, that would be the situation in the country for a long time to come.
In view of this, don’t you think it is very strange to see the NPP Communication Directorate now planting stories of Akufo-Addo’s political events on the web and in their sympathetic newspapers? Unless the unlimited reporters in Ghana have refused to cover political events of the NPP’s presidential candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo, or they are simply refusing to colour stories, I honestly do not see the reason why the NPP communication team is now writing and planting stories of Akufo-Addo’s political events.
The NPP made a lot of noise that Nana Akufo-Addo and Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, his running mate, were going to embark on their “Tour of Hope” in the Eastern Region over the past weekend. And since the Eastern Region is Akufo-Addo’s own backyard, touring the area with his running mate naturally was going to witness a heavy flow of reporters from all the newspapers across the country.
There were reporters from the major newspapers notably the “Daily Graphic and “Ghana Times” which is why there was reportage of the so-called hope tour in the Monday’s edition of those newspapers. But when you read the newspapers, the reportage was very different from the planted story of the NPP Communication Directorate.
Whilst the newspapers simply reported about the tour which took Akufo-Addo and Bawumia to some towns in the Eastern Region, where Akufo-Addo who seems to be in a dreamland predicted his own victory in the up-coming elections on December 7, the NPP Communications Directorate’s planted story started by saying Akufo-Addo and Bawumia brought all commercial activities to a halt during their tour. What a lie!
This was a deliberate attempt by the NPP Communication Directorate to deceive Ghanaians into believing that the tour which actually failed to ‘catch fire’ was a success story with huge and unprecedented crowds. With the NPP Communications Directorate now taking the role of reporters to report on their own events, where is the balance news? Can I stand up today and organize something and then take a pen and paper and report on the same event and have it published? Ladies and gentlemen, this is what the NPP is now doing. They are reporting their own events and the aim is to colour what actually happens.
Believe me, anytime you see any political news with a screaming headline about the NPP in the Daily Graphic with no by-line or simply by “Graphic Reporter”, it means it’s a planted story written by the NPP Communication Team fully aided by Mr. Kobby Asmah, Political Editor of the Daily Graphic. Since NPP has reached a desperation point, the party’s apparatchiks have put all bets on the table by adopting any means that could help push them back to the corridors of power.
I know that the NPP members would not see any rationale in this article and would jump to insult me, but I want to inform them that no amount of witchery or prayers nor their insults would prevent me from further exposing their flaws, evil intentions and their overall agenda of scheming to get back to power simply to rape this our beloved country.
In this our world, when people get to desperate situations they tend to adopt desperate measures to push them out from desperate dump sites. That is why the NPP is now reporting on their own events, with heavy metallic colours just to deceive Ghanaians that people are falling for Akufo-Addo when in fact many are running away from the man who is too afraid to slam Kennedy Agyapong for calling on Asantes to massacre Ewes and Gas. Do you remember what Akufo-Addo said? He said since the case is in court he cannot comment on it.
I would end by saying that don’t be surprised if somebody asks Akufo-Addo when the 2012 elections would be held and Akufo-Addo answers, “It’s in court, it’s in court, so I cannot comment on it.”
