I sincerely did not expect the Cash Man to present anything meaningful to the audience at his party-rules-breaching press conference on Friday, October 17, scarcely 24 hours before the New Patriotic Party's Election 2016 presidential primary. And as surefire as hell, the stentorian megalomaniac did not disappoint (See "Alan: NPP Needs a Flagbearer Who Can Win Power" Adomonline.com 10/17/14).
What is quite remarkable here is that Monsieur Alan John Kwadwo "Quitman" Kyerematen and yours truly are essentially on the same page when it comes to the critical question of deciding who best fits the description of New Patriotic Party presidential candidate for Election 2016. We both believe that the best NPP presidential candidate or flagbearer material is one who can win power handily; we simply vehemently disagree on the choice of candidate.
As usual, the twice-defeated NPP presidential candidate aspirant believes that he is the best candidate for the job. The problem here, though, is that less than one out of ten New Patriotic Party delegates are in agreement with the Cash Man. On the other hand, a humongous nine out of ten NPP delegates are in resounding agreement with yours truly that the man who best fits the bill is none other than Ghana's former Justice and Foreign Minister under President John Agyekum-Kufuor, namely, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
The apocalyptic pity here, though, is that Mr. Kyerematen continues to depravedly and selfishly demonstrate his abject contempt and thoroughgoing disrespect for the will and mandate of both party delegates and the Ghanaian electorate at large, thus his persistent disregard and insistence on being coronated NPP presidential candidate by hook and / or crook. His latest game plan has been to campaign on the insolent platform of inducing the support of party delegates with a promise of motorbikes and bicycles.
And this is insulting because the Cash Man himself has never been known to campaign on either motorbikes or bicycles. He is often either on tourist buses or flying "mechanical kites." Off the campaign trail, the Cash Man prefers luxury cars. And so it strangely appears that Mr. Kyerematen would rather comfortably have both his staunch supporters and potential supporters, and even sympathizers, fully appreciate the fact that he stands well over and above the Biblical Golden Rule of doing unto others as one would have others do unto one.
You see, he would be quite credible, in spite of the implicitly unmistakable insult in his brazen bribery attempt, if Mr. Cash could forensically back up his earlier claims that despite his pathologically self-centered decision not to campaign for the man who soundly defeated him in the 2010 Election 2012 presidential primaries, nevertheless, the Cash Man had donated hundreds of motorbikes and humongous wads of hard cash, or hard currency, to the Akufo-Addo campaign.
To hear Mr. Boakye Agyarko, the 2012 Akufo-Addo Presidential Campaign Manager, publicly tell it, you would be convinced that the word "Mendacity" was actually coined by President Kufuor's second Minister for Trade, Industry and Presidential Special Initiatives.
And so the Kyerematen Mendacity Train continues to lurch from one electioneering campaign stop to another, totally devoid of remorse and shame.
