MTN Ghana, the leading telecommunications company in Ghana, has been adjudged the best Information Communication Technology Company of the Year. This was at the 3rd edition of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) Awards held at the Banquet Hall in Accra. This is the second consecutive time MTN Ghana has won the award.
The annual AGI Awards, which is a national event, seeks to recognise businesses that have distinguished themselves in their respective sectors. The third edition of the Ghana Industry Awards covered all sectors of the economy as it seeks to provide a platform to help define the highest standards in business.
According to the AGI, the Ghana Industry Awards event is aimed at encouraging and rewarding the achievements of businesses that have distinguished themselves over the years and to motivate other companies to climb the ladder of excellence.
MTN was the winner last year and has succeeded in maintaining its leadership in Ghana’s ICT industry. Speaking after receiving the Award, MTN Regulatory Affairs Senior Manager, Eleanor Sarpong, expressed the company’s gratitude to the AGI for the recognition of MTN’s leadership role in the ICT sector in the country. She noted that the achievement was reinforcing MTN’s commitment to the delivery of bold new digital services to its customers.
“This award will spear us on to do more to make our vision a reality,” Mrs Sarpong noted.
Earlier in the year, MTN was also adjudged the Best Customer Service Company of the Year in the Mobile World Award; the Best Corporate Tax Payer by the Ghana Revenue Authority, and the Platinum Award Winner at the Ghana-African Business Awards. MTN was also the only company to have won three awards during the annual CIMG Awards in the following categories: Print Advert of the Year (Just4U), Television Advert of the Year (Ntusu?) and Outdoor Advert of the Year (MTN Mobile Money).
