Let's Keep Accra Clean

Have you travelled round the city lately? I have and it wasn't a pleasant sight to enjoy at all.

Travelling round the city nowadays, you are faced with stinking gutters, heaps of garbage and above all, scores of mentally challenged persons.

Ghanaians for some time now have developed the penchant of making so much waste without appropriately disposing off them properly.. These acts have now made our city one of the worst in terms cleanliness..

Not handling wastes well have created a societal catastrophe. Notably, the upsurge in the number of mosquitoes which obviously increases the malaria infection cases.

With these environmental challenges, how would any tourist take us serious? Accra's conditions are so bad that one can only enjoy walking the streets of Accra with noses covered.. If the city could be this dirty, need we mention the other towns?

I therefore urge all Ghanaians to try to help the city authorities in tackling the waste problems of the capital and the other towns in ensuring healthy living. Government must re-direct the environmental policies to meet the standards.
