The Largest opposition party, NDC together with other civil society groups, interest groups and Ghanaians are embarking on a demonstration to kick against the ratification of a military agreement entered into by government of Ghana.

The demonstrators, numbering over hundred have assembled at the Circle Obra Spot holding placards with several inscriptions that indicate their disapproval of the deal.

Some opposition members including North Tongu MP, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Deputy Minority Leader, Avedzi and NDC General Secretary Asiedu Nketia are among the demonstrators.

Security personnel are also there in their numbers to ensure that nothing untoward happens and maintain the sanctity of the event.

Yesterday, a press conference to address issues pertaining to the demonstration was ended abruptly after CID officials picked up deputy General Secretary of NDC Koku Anyidoho, one of the people who addressed the press conference.

He was charged with treason and refused bail. His detention prompted scores of people especially opposition supporters to storm the CID headquarters to seek his release.

General Secretary of NDC, Asiedu Nketia hinted that the arrest of the Deputy General Secretary has warmed them up for the demonstration today and called on all supporters of the party to join the demonstrators to send a strong signal of their disapproval to government
